Thank you, Sir! I'm excited to clean it up for sure. In talking with another buddy, he believes it to be a Colton.

Great video Nate. I'm glad you like the heads. You pointed out some stamps that I didn't notice when I had them. The little vise is killer as well. Nice find.

My first time seeing a diamond eye axe. I'd be real interested in watching you hang that beauty. Nice video, thanks.

First time I've ever seen a diamond eye. I just picked up a what I believe to be a Kelly double bit and have a few handles in transit for some projects. Great vid as always

Thanks Corey!! I truly appreciate it. This is my first time getting hands on a diamond eye and I'm excited for the challenge of hanging it. I may end up carving a handle for it as I've got some hickory kicking around. You'll definitely have to update me on they Kelly when you start hanging it👍

I believe that first axe is a Underhill Edge Tool Co. Their pretty old.

Much appreciated! I will have to do some research and see of I can find any similar stamps on similar patterns from them. Thank you for the tip!

I wonder if your mystery axe #1 might possibly be an EAGLE EDGE TOOL CO head from England. They seem to have had very light stamps that become faint or nonexistent with use. The company had various incarnations which resulted in different stamp configurations and locations including an eagle silhouette. Eagle Edge was later acquired by Brades.

Thanks for the lead Brett!! I'll have to research some of their stamps and see if any match. My other guess is possibly MANN EDGE TOOL CO. But I haven't seen any of theirs that match yet!

@@Nsvens89 That would make more sense as I think English made heads would have incurred a tariff for import to the States. I believe that is also why Kelly used it's Canadian manufacturing plant to make heads imported to New Zealand and Australia since they were all British Commonwealth countries.

That makes perfect sense about Kelly making them in Canada. It hadn't thought of that reasoning. I'll keep doing some searching on the stamp as I'm not sold on it being MANN yet.

That mark above the CO, it could be part of something else but coincidentally it does look alot like the smiley face stamp that Brades put on their "Good Temper" line of tools as well. Either way, a Brades/Eagle Edge Connie would be a very cool axe. I saw a Brades Rafter in an antique store one day years ago and I'm still kicking myself for not grabbing it 😫

I appreciate the tip on the smiley face Kurt! I'm not very familiar with brades stamping. I absolutely know what you mean about the rafter. I've passed on a few axes and then gone back because I regretted it, only to find that someone else bought it.

I know if half the stuff I looked and liked followed me home, I would be sleeping on the lawn with it because that's where the wife would put me and whatever I just acquired.

Hahaha I definitely understand. I look at way more than what finds it's way home. Thankfully my wife's very supportive of the hobby and doesn't mind all the junk I'm hoarding.... most of the time.
