Hilariously, this nearly killed a raid we were doing. One of our raiders ran out of energy 4 runs deep and we had to find a workaround to get him energy so he could cast magic touch and open the gate. Luckily we got it sorted (he could refill energy through his character tab) but it gave us a little bit of a scare.

Def my biggest gripe is the fact bazaar goes down too The best gear for level 1-25 and even 30 pre Olympus farm are all found in Bazaar For new players, that is a massive resource to lose

I'm genuinely curious as to why people still play Wizard101. I stopped playing it because it was too much money for not enough substance. The quests boiled down to "kill 3 of these enemies," "find this random thing lying around," "Kill this boss," "talk to this random dude," repeat. I can maybe see the appeal of PVP, but I think that's flawed too since not only do you have to pay for membership to even play, you need the best gear to win which costs real money. Maybe that's worth it to some people, but definitely not to me. It's not like other MMORPG's like WoW where there's combat that requires real time decision making, or fire emblem which involves far more strategy. It's just "They made a play, here's the obvious counter play". Sure strategies can go deeper than that, but not to the point of making you feel like you truly outplayed your opponent since it's too RNG based. Back when I played, the only thing that kept me playing was the excitement of getting to see new spell animations once I leveled up, but then I learned I could just see them on KZbin. I think I reached ~lvl 50 before I threw in the towel. The one thing I'd say is exceptional about this game is the world building, but that's definitely not enough to keep me playing. Let me know why you still play this game below. I swear this wasn't meant to anger anyone who still plays the game, I'm just genuinely curious as to what the appeal of it is.

Played it in my childhood, holds lot of nostalgia, and I enjoy the gameplay loop, I like card games. I can understand why it isn't your cup of tea, I don't pay for the best gear and I still stand a chance against people, I also have good times with a lot of friends in the game, especially late at night while grinding. I also enjoy stitching and making new outfits.

A lot of it rides off nostalgia no doubt. It also is a lot of the community that keeps the community together. If I didn't make content and talk to people on discord, or twitter, this game would genuinely be pretty boring for me. I do what I want and then thats really it. With the community and people to talk to, the game takes a turn to me and becomes more of a family than just a game I play to spend some time. Plus PvP and new content is fun. Just me though.
