@@salphoris911and even more, they would've done a lot of the other primarchs a lot more justice than GW does. I'd have been interested to see how they dealt with Angron. Angron, more than any other Primarch, was just screwed from the outset. Literally as his pod opened, xenos, commonly believed to be Eldar, tried to kill him as an infant. I mean, given that he was found by a slaver covered in blood and with a lot of xenos corpses around him, you can see how that ended. Forced to kill his father figure, and when he refused, he had the Butchers Nails installed in his brain, and was then forced to do so again. After starting a slave revolt, he and his thousand slaves fled to the mountains, surrounded by the opposing armies, fully intent to fight and die together, only for Big E to teleport him away from the fight, and to do nothing to save the other gladiators. Genuinely the biggest mistake Big E ever made regarding Angron, as even with the Nails, had Big E also saved the other gladiators, I don't see Angron turning traitor. After being taken away, Angron sought only one thing. Death. Which is why Lorgar turning him into a Daemon was just the final nail into the Tragedy of Angron.

Thus, while being banished to the Warp won't kill them, if you send them in, they can't get out. The only problem is that you have to actually hit the bastards.

The most fitting death for Erebus would be for him to be fatally wounded by a menial child that he ignores when he was say fighting Guilliman and Guilliman did nothing but watch him slowly die. I can just hear him screaming at Guilliman to "KILL ME" and "HOW DARE YOU DENY ME, DESTINY'S HAND, THE RIGHT TO DIE BY YOU ROUBOUTE GUILLIMAN!!" Guilliman just looks at Erebus with a mixture of contempt, disgust, and confusion and only says, "I don't even know who you are." THAT is how Erebus should die.

I’d love it for Guilliman or lion to meet Erebus, Kor Phaeron, Lucius, Ahriman, Abbadon, or the other Chaos Astarte characters and for the loyalist Primarchs to just go “Who are you again? And why should I care” to them.

Speaking of mundane and forgotten deaths, during the Horus Heresy there was a Sons of Horus Captain who took 50 astartes and a siege drill transport tried to drill under the wall at the Siege of Terra and Rogal Dorn dug a connecting hole and filled it with slow dry watery concrete, so the drill ended up stalling and that captain and the 50 astartes plus drill crew have been stuck, in concrete under the Saturine Wall on Terra, forgotten for 10k years and forever more, and due to the unnatural long life span of Astartes, have been conscious for the entire time unable to tell the passage of time, in the dark, forgotten by time itself

If I may contribute an idea for getting rid of Erebus: At the battle of Crécy during the 100-year-war between France and England, the French got resoundingly trashed. It was an army about twice as strong with a very large amount of knights that got dunked on by basically a group of archers. They had send Genoese crossbowmen (mercenaries) to fight the dug in English longbowmen, but those retreated relatively quickly. So the French knights heroically started slaughtering them (note: the _Genoese_ ) and then charged through a muddy landscape to get to the English bowmen. Now the armor on knights was pretty good and hard to penetrate until they got close. A horse's flesh is not. So the already difficult advance through people, mud, pits dug by the English and ever more bodies, became an absolute slaughter. Many fell to arrows or englishmen looking to finish the job with a spear or another weapon, or were instead captured for ransoming later. Some, however, simply drowned in the mud as they could not get up due to the weight of their armor, or because they were pinned under their horses. Imagine drowning in mud in your glorious set of armor while some peasants watch it all happen. Perhaps that is a sad and dishonorable enough death for Erebus. He would become a laughing stock, a tale mothers would tell their children if they misbehave... Fun fact: the middle finger gesture comes from this war, as the French would cut of the middle fingers from bowmen they caught (damn hard to pull a longbow without it), leading the English to hold them up to the French to tell them to come and get them!

The thing about the Tau that Cato killed mercilessly? She wasn't pleading for her life, she was actually, genuinely, attempting to demoralize the Ultramarine she was conversing/pontificating by pretending to be vulnerable while seeking a chance to kill either him or any other Ultramarine she encountered... With a pistol she hid. I disagree with Bricky, knowing the above thing makes the whole interaction a lot funnier because here's a Tau, one not in a battlesuit, trying to kill a Space Marine with a simple gun. If it were a bomb and she wanted to take out a Marine along with herself? Believable. A pistol though? Yeah, if Cato hadn't killed her, any Ultramarine she was trying to demoralize would do so anyway after the shot failed to kill him.

I mean if you're about to die from an eight foot walking tank breaking through your wall you'll try anything in desperation to survive.
@_NIKOS9_NIKOS Жыл бұрын
She was a water caste civilian (already far more fragile than a normal human) facing an eight foot tall murder machine that was intending to kill her anyway. Gun or no gun she was 100% vulnerable when you factor in what she was facing. Reaching for the gun while distracting her executioner was probably her only small chance of getting out of this alive if she managed to nail the shot. Hell, the fact that she managed to stay calm enough to even attempt this under such circumstances is legit badass. Either way, Cato doesnt need any justification for killing her. In the end of the day he is a Space Marine, a person who has been brainwashed since he was a pre-teen by a fascist regime and turned into a weapon designed to HATE everything that is non-human and to exterminate them with 0 pity, be it soldier or civilian. People tend to forget that. Because lets be real, that Tau could have been an unarmed pregnant mother, in a wheelchair carrying twins in her ams and the outcome would have been the same.

RE best way to kill Erebus- let him get to the pinnacle of his fuckery, where all his plans have come together and he's monologue-ing about how "I AM THE HAND OF FATE!!!" just when some rando guardsman with a scavenged plasma pistol goes "you talk too much i think. yes, it is time for you to shut up now." and vaporizes his head. the backfire caused by vaporizing the lynchpin of so many rituals/plans undoes a large chunk of chaos' work and pisses off the gods SO BAD they refuse to let erebus resurrect OR become a demon. "screw you, perma-death it is".

Great Episode. Cato Sicarius is one of those figures who is more interesting on an out-of-universe level than in in-universe. He is the posterchild of how to spin stupid lore into nuanced lore. The only thing Bricky missed, is that Cato Sicarius and Uriel Ventris don't like each other. Which is fair enough, considering Ventris wasn't mentioned on the podcast yet.

The Damocles book where the Tau moment comes from is actually one of my favorite showings of Sicarius, most of the book he gets criticized by his mentor for being reckless and egotistical and for being a terrible leader and by the end actually changes a little. Shame this didn't necessarily carry through other books. Edit: Also yes, the Tau in question was one of their political caste who was attempting to coerce the marines to let down their guard so they could shoot them in the back.

My brother used Cato's coup de' grace to kill the 5th edition's newly released Lelith Hesperax. She was a fething monster in close combat. Because of this a crowd had gathered when it was announced that Lelith was engaged in close combat. Everyone wanted to see the slaughter. His opponent unfortunately rolled offensively poor. My brother didn't need any miraculous saving throw because she literally missed every single hit. Now because her WS was quite a bit higher than Cato's, my brother would need to roll really well. So he decides to forgo Cato's normal attacks and opts for the Coup de' Grace. One hit instant death. He absolutely destroyed Lelith. Cato was a dead man standing when Lelith engaged him. The little bastard showed he wasn't all talk.
