I can’t tell you how much this beloved hymn means to me tonight. My grandmother, whom I love very much passed away this morning. She had been dying for a little while, so it wasn’t unexpected. I had cried before I prayed for her, but I sent my mom a short video that explained what was necessary in order to be saved, and I asked her to play the video for my grandmother. My mom told me that my grandmother’s eyes fluttered when she heard the message. This morning, my mom told me that my aunt had heard from, I don’t remember if she said the nurse, or a nurse aide, that my grandmother had exhaled deeply before she passed, and that she looked peaceful. I have peace in my heart and soul, and I give God all of the glory for that.

Chesterbarnes1 This is the morning service congregation singing, and the choir and orchestra and organ are part of it... but the sanctuary holds over 2,000 people in the pews. We have 2 services on Sunday mornings, so this is half of the dear folks attending the main services. And yes, our organist, Steven Sturtz, is a world class organist. It makes one sing with all their heart!

How the times have changed! Sadly the old tradition of simple hymn singing by the entire congregation has largely been replaced by dancing prancing ‘professional’ performers on stage. And many (and the older people) are silent and watch the noisy entertainment show overwhelming you with the huge TV screens, the moving spot lights , flashing lights, all the modern technical gizmos and huge speakers and off course the ever present modern loud music with the musicians showing off their skill and prowess on quitars and drums etc.
