IT JUST GETS BETTER!!! Two Days on Rocky Mountaineer Vancouver to Banff - Part 2

We thought the first day on the Rocky Mountaineer train was fantastic… but it gets even better! We wake up early, like 5am early, to get on the bus at the hotel back to the train station in Kamloops.
They have coffee and tea ready for us when we board with breakfast soon to follow… did we mention how yummy the food is??
The beautiful views start right away with a stunning sunrise! One of the coolest things is that for part of the day we had a desert terrain on one side of the train with a lush forest on the other… at the same time!! Mote wildlife today with mountain ship, eagles and salmon in the rivers… but no bears for is even though they are often seen.
Today we are getting into the Rocky Mountains!! The peaks get higher and higher… and we see where where they got their name as the mountains themselves look like shear rock walls! Beautiful!! We also pass through Glacier National Park and see several glaciers from the train.
There were lots of tunnels today! One being five miles long! You are in complete darkness inside the tunnel and for short ones you can stay out on the viewing platform, but for this one everyone had to come inside and take a seat. At the end of the day we reached the spiral tunnels. These go through two mountains and you exit the tunnel 50ft higher than you entered.
We end our day in Lake Louise… ready for tomorrow’s adventure!

The other name for Coho salmon is Silver salmon, and Chinook salmon is also called King salmon...FYI.

My favorite part is the reactions to the delicious food. I always wait for Jason to pump his arms or Alissa to just melt from the goodness of the sweets. You two have so much fun together! Spiral tunnels are my grandson’s favourite, we make the drive from Calgary to BC several times a year and that is always a required stop!! Next time bring Ellie 2 the drive is amazing ❤

When you are travelling east, the scenery your left side is south facing and bakes in the sun.that heat is absorbed by the rock, making it even hotter. On your right side, the valley is north facing and receives nowhere near as much sun. Hence the different look out of either side of the train

We did the Rocky Mountain last July we went through Vancouver all the way to Calgary on the train and the places you went through we went through to but you stopped in Lake Louise. We kept going to Calgary and we stayed at Lake Louise for two nights. We went through Spiral tunnels too. Live in Ontario Canada

How'd you like the second day? My favorite part was those spiral tunnels! Our car turned to A aqua blue when we went through every tunnel. We also had the same appetizer on the second day at lunch time. Our next hotels were Fairmount hotels for the next three days after the train portion. Then A delta hotel in Calgary.

We are about 50/50 giving our take on what we are experiencing and what we are seeing. Even if you watch shows on travel channel, etc you are going to get about 50/50, we are following that model.

Cruise ships are horrible for the environment!!!! People don't care! They rather bask in their decadence and gluttony. They should make that a sleeper train, one wouldn't have to de-train and then awake at cock's crow to reboard at 06:00. The train has to spend the night in a yard, unless they change to run it through the night, so having the Pax onboard makes no difference. may even be cheaper for the operator, with no hotel charges.
