My cat had to go through the same surgery when he was younger because someone ran over his tail. Poor little thing came home and was running around everywhere, banging on walls it hurt so bad. Thankfully for little kittens who don’t get the chance to have a family as soon as others, there’s people like Dr. Matt that still gives them a chance! Absolutely love the videos. I’ve literally binge-watched about a dozen. Love from France!

This is not due to a burn this is due to conflicting blood types with the mother and father cat, a blood clot got caught in the blood vessel of the tail stopping circulation and causing necrosis the tail usually dries up and falls off but in this case it is remaining attached

I found a cat that’s tail was black on the end and behind the ear. He was skinny I was scared to touch him. We kept him until his tail and ear was healed and we fed him lots. He now lives with my best friend and he’s as happy and healthy as ever!

I've been watching you for almost 2 years now I love what you do for these animals. I used to suffer from extreme depression and at the same time was dealing with the stress of trade school and relationship issues. I think that's a GREAT IDEA! I volunteer at local animal shelter in Colorado. People here don't know about services our local shelter provides. They just concentrate on the "KILL"status. ASPCA will do adoption fairs, but the donation raised go towards ASPCA's administration costs, NOT to shelters.

Had a barn cat (my family adopted all but 3...) I nicknamed this kitty "Sparks". This tiny bugger was just a handful of a puss. I'm under my wifes car with an angle grinder doing rear support work. This little orange tiny fur-bucket decided to 'stroll' right through the sparks the grinder was making. Got right in my face and 'meowed'. Zero Fear! (we did try to keep the barn cats out of the work area....FYI) Later during the repair that little snot walked next to where I was working, and took a huge &hit about 1' from my head into the dirt floor... Wife said "He just left you SOFT SERVE!!". I finished up my work, scooped the poop and tossed it outside. Picked up "Sparks" and put 'em on my shoulder for about 10 minutes. He was like a parrot!. He got adopted a few weeks later. My family still has his brother "Garfield". A 22lb orange/tiger mix. I can only imagine "Sparks" being full sized trying to park it on my shoulder...

I took in a feral young cat maybe just a yr old nearly 12 yrs ago who had no tail at all, not even a little stub. I have no idea why happened to him or his tail, but golly this little kitten looks just like our cat with no tail, Sonny Boy. We wanted to call him Bobby, but my dad's name is Bob, brother Bob, and brother in law is Bob, so my son named the cat without a tail, Sonny Boy. He's beautiful even without a tail. Wicked disposition though, he does not like even the friendliest of dogs at all. He's a permanent dog hater, and we have a family full of dog lovers including us. Oh well... we manage... I'm glad the little kitten is all better and I'm sure he'll get a good home. Thanks for taking him in, caring for him til he was old enough for surgery and making him well again. You can't become a full time vet at 16 you have to 1. Finish high school 2. Go to more school to become a vet 3. Make good grades in school to get excepted into a good vetranarian school to become a vet *and* 4. Get a job at a vet

I don't know if it's the same in every country but to become a veterinarian in Germany you have to go to school for 12 years get good grades and then you have to study at the university it's almost as hard as becoming a doctor. (i don't wanna discourage you or anyone from becoming a vet it's a great job that needs to be done but I wanna say it's a hard way that surely will pay off in the end if you commit to it)

Thank you for all you do for these animals. I had a juvenile cat show up at my house with a very raw, red half of a tail. He was constantly licking it and crying. After about two months I was able to trap him, take him to vet and neuter him. While there they cut off the rest of his tail. He is now a very happy, handsome cat that plays with the other dozen or so thst come to eat twice a day.

Ishdeep Singh Mm, no. Animal cruelty does not have harsh punishments at all. Most of the time, it's a fee. Sometimes, depending on the State, it's not seen as abuse. It also does not stop that person from being able to get another animal.

Obviously stronger laws regarding sentences and 'punishment'.....many states don't treat these matters seriously AT ALL which is not ethical. I've seen cats and dogs show as much if not more emotion than some humans, and they should be protected.

I’ve been a demolition ranch sub for a year and stated watching this channel and subscribed to it of course. But I think every animal you have go in there you make there lives better and I hope you keep doing this because what you’re doing is important and you should try and encourage more people to become a veterinarian to make a difference to life not only to humans but to animals and the families they will go to.

Hello Matt. Been watching you videos for years . And I recently got myself a puppy. And then things go bad . My little pup got out and into the neighbor's yard. I can't prove it but I know he kicked her or something. She has a limp and I am at the vets now her back leg is broken and honestly I wanted to know if you would be able to help me with my kiddo. I'm in Phoenix but I'd be willing to drive to Texas anything I can do to get her helped or if you know anyone out here in my area that might be willing to help me I don't have $1000s to spend I'm just hoping someone will work with me
