I moved to Texas for work for two years and it was very lonely. My apartment complex was full of feral cats. I took in four newborn kittens and every morning all four of them pile on my chest and purr up a storm. Sometimes it's the only thing that makes me smile all day. Life is hard. We need these creatures.

They definitely give us a lot, but the need for love and companionship is mutual between humans and animals. Rescuing ferals, saving them from a life on the streets, and giving them a warm and safe home, where they are loved, well fed and happy? That's a truly beautiful thing to do. So I just adopted a cat that was preggo and it's my first cat and she does it every morning right before my alarm clock and now she has had the kittens and no I have a whole troop checking on me in the morning. It's wonderful

@@TheThinker1200I also don't see dogs as true pets. I dislike people who treat their dogs bluntly and nonfamiliar when they don't need them as tools i.eg. like a farm dog or guard dog. A family dog is to ne treated as a full family member. I let my dog sleep in the bed, and clean up after this big labrador retriever 2 times a week, you just gotta deal with it. Of course this doesn't mean i'll let everything slide what she wants, in a family family members wouldn't let someone do what they want all day as well.

I have a question. I hope you won't find it weird or rude. Does it make your sheets smell to let your dog onto your bed? To my understanding it's quite normal for healthy dogs to have some musky smell. Especially when the dog is large with a thick coat, like a golden retriever. When I visited a friend who has a labrador retriever, I noticed her car and house had a distinct dog scent. If it transfers onto car seats, surely it must transfer onto bed sheets as well, right? Maybe it had to do with her dog having had a litter of puppies recently.

@@destituteanddecadent9106 dogs get smells especially if they play outside a lot . I have a small dog but she gets into everything. I give her a bath 2x a week and I don’t limit her getting on the bed unless she gets wet from rain. I also keep my sheets changed a few times per week. It’s all about cleanliness and love for animals.

So cute! I had a beagle girl for 16 years. Of course she owned the bed. She was under the covers then over the covers all night long. There were times when I had to catch a super early train to nyc for a meeting and I had to put her in the guest bedroom bed so I could sleep. She didn't mind because it was rare. She has been gone a long time now but I miss her everyday and would give just about anything to have her doing her bed thing just one more time. Pups 🐶 Rule!

This made my grown mam ass tear up 😢 I miss both my dogs. I had to watch the absolute devastation last year of how fucked up cancer really is ,and my heartbreaks in half. Watching this beautiful interaction in so many ways for me personally ,and just in general. Theres no love and loyalty like a dog has.They literally show us ,and teach us so much organically,and silently in a world that can be so harsh. Even if you may not realize it in moments,or see it untill there gone. I truly don't understand why their lifespans are so short. I truly wish they lived forever. For anyone who feels me ,and misses their best friends you're not alone.

Lost my boy Floyd in November.im a single 51 year old aand he was my whole reason for living.he ate something while on our walks in the woods and it stuck in his intestine.operated on him but a week laater it was clear he wasnt getting better.i had to then consent to putting him to sleep as the chances of survival were 1 in 10 and he had suffered enough. I still cry every day about him and his chin hitting the floor once they injected him. I feel like a murderer. Ive since developed cripplling anxiety and depreddion.just started meds last week so see how it goes. I miss him so much. Its like my life has no structure without him.

I truly feel it still cant get over loosing my River, he passed in dec. he was 17. died of cancer. was my best friend and comforter and companion in every way. so many thing we did together that I cannot do yet. i'm still grieving.

@@BricktopsPigshealing takes a lot of time and acceptance. My pet rabbit died to means that were also avoidable, though i’m sure a pet rabbit dying is different than your dog best friend. My bunny chewed on the electrical cord of one of our heaters, i heard his little noise as he got electrocuted, and i held his stiff cold body in my arms for hours. i pet him like he was alive, and kissed his head begging for it all to be a nightmare. he is now buried right outside my window, the window next to my bed. i pray everyday, though i’ve never been religious, that an afterlife of peace was promised onto my rabbit. My oldest dog’s hips are getting weaker everyday, and her love for all humans still grows as each day goes on. i wish you the best, and i hope you find your path to acceptance

Totally agree with that. I know that from my own experience with our two Yorkies, Roxie and Leo. Roxie was our litle bundle of love and joy and gave so much of both. She was my little girl. Leo was more my dad's little guy and I'm not kidding here, those two were soulmates. Roxie passed away in October and Leo earlier today. We're completely heartbroken especially my dad with Leo.

Pets seem to know what makes us happy. I have a cat that likes to hangout in my room sometimes. She didn't stay in it for awhile and then out of nowhere she suddenly started to stay in my room every night and get on my bed which is something she wouldn't usually do. A few days later after she started doing that I had to go to the hospital where I learned my pacemaker was dead for months and a wire had also given out. I didn't notice that, though a month or so before that I was experiencing some fatigue but I would just keep brushing it off and when i was having fatigue episodes more frequently that's when my cat was staying in my room more. It's like she knew. And then when I was waiting and dreading the surgery she kept me company by sleeping on my bed or just hanging out with me. She will always be my #1 cat 🩷

His little chuckle and her tail wags.. MY HEART. These are the moments in life you cherish. The connection these two have transcends species, time or space. It’s beautiful, it’s inspiring and it’s an amazing example of the meaning of life - to nurture, to connect and to love. The first thing I do every morning is pull my pups close and as they wake up I kiss them on the nose and tell them I love them. I wouldn’t trade those moments for anything in this universe ❤️
