I am guilty of not understanding the ulterior motive of the co-worker the first time too. I thought that you should have passed her on to the co-worker if client added a color service and co-worker said she could take her if she wanted color. This video reveals it was never about the color experience but snagging high-paying clients. Also, if you had passed her back, it would have reflected poorly on you with the client. Good to see the boss finally turn around.
