21:02 I agree! 2x10 "Reunion" is amazing, but the rest of the Dru arc is lackluster. This current Darla arc / baby arc also has its ups and downs in episode quality. Personally 3x09 is one of my favorites. 6:57 I mean, Angel kind of did go insane after being cursed. He spent decades all alone wracked with guilt.

This episode is packed with a lot of dark fun. A well prepared WR&H force along with a scary looking psychic get beaten by a man with a sword, a ninja who looks unbreakable gets eaten easily by vampires.

In Quickening we see the story develop further, great bluff by Fred with the knife saying I will 'slice the miracle child' in the hospital when the vampires arrive. A great scene also when Holtz eventually finds Angel, and a great final scene with Darla going into labour at the end sets up some great following episodes. All in all two pretty decent episodes back to back.

"How did that happen?" Human perception is surprisingly (and terrifyingly) fallible. Evidence suggests that you could conceivably miss being surrounded by vampires if you were sufficiently distracted.

I'm sure you hear this a lot, but I absolutely love watching you experience these for the first time. I know the order you release them may not match the order you watch them, but if I may make one recommendation, there is an order of alternation for Buffy and Angel that is widely considered proper (and ideal for an optimal experience, given that they occur in the same universe). For seasons 4-6 of Buffy (and seasons 1-3 of Angel), the traditional order is episode n of Buffy followed by episode n of Angel (i.e. BABA). For season 7 of Buffy and season 4 of Angel, each Angel episode should precede each corresponding Buffy episode (ABAB). This is based on their order of airing when the shows were first coming out (and is the order they were intended to be watched in). Thank you for putting these reactions up. You are amazing, and I'm looking forward to rewatching what remains of both series along with you.

I love how Wulfram and Hart brought Darla back to life, but they haven't a clue what she and her child have to do with whatever prophesy it is that is going on now. So was someone manipulating Wulfram and Hart too to make this happen? Or are there higher ups at the senior partner level who *do* know what they are doing?

I remember an interview Sarah Michelle Gellar gave, I think it was on Conan, where she addressed the 1998 equivalent of Twitter type of criticism where Angel didn't use a condom when Buffy lost her virginity to him. She said something like, "He's a 200 year old vampire, come on, he's shooting blanks." That's why it didn't occur to them that the baby couldn't be human, this is weird. Darla's eggs died when she became a vampire, and Angel stopped producing sperm when he turned. Not only that, but Darla's body doesn't function like a human anymore. The umbilical cord carries oxygen to the fetus and Darla doesn't breathe. Vampires don't even have a heartbeat, yet they still bleed when cut, which I can only explain with fanon logic (it's demonic, magical blood that "swims"). This pregnancy is inexplicable, unprecedented, unnatural, and impossible, so the only logical explanation is that it couldn't possibly be a normal human fetus. Unseen, unknown forces don't change the laws of the natural world just so a normal ass baby can be born. Even Jesus did magic.

Sorry it's different to you, but that's not on me and therefore _not_ the "dick move" you seemed to think it was. Best I can do on my end is start moving comments further down. Sorry again. EDIT: There _is_ sometimes a difference between reading it on the page and in the notifications bell. But, I don't know how you read it and what the issue could be past my explanation.

This is a bit of topic but are you aware that the actress Julie Benz is actually a very good singer? Earlier in the show Angel when Ms. Benz was singing for Lauren it was actually Julie Benz voice.
