Easy installation and great video. However, the wired pro floodlight cam doesn't want to connect to my EERO Mesh Wi-Fi system. I have 4 routers covering over 5k sq footage. This is the 3rd replacement and is telling me the same error as the previous 2 units along the lines of, "set up is not complete. Your Wi-Fi router may be too far away". This is incorrect. My Ring Doorbell, stick up camera, non-PRO chime and all other electronic devices were installed and/or connected successfully. I've spent numerous hours troubleshooting (since early Dec’21) and on the phone with EERO, Ring Tech Support team and HelloTech (3rd party contractor partnered w/Ring). HelloTech's tech even came over and unsuccessfully troubleshooted. He spent over 90 mns. In the troubleshooting process, we used a different network, hot spot, paused the 5Ghz band to allow the 2.4 take over for the floodlight to connect, restarted the network, unplugged routers, bought a Chime Pro to boost the signal, etc. and NO LUCK! As you can tell, I'm desperate and would appreciate any input. If this issue is a head-scratcher for the pros mentioned above, imagine how it is to me. Thanks.

Don't get it unless you want your local police right in your home. They have full access to the ring community and don't even let you post stuff on there if they don't want it on there. The cameras are spyware by them and have been put in thousands of houses. Not a good thing to have in your house

Thank you for making this video. My mom got her car broken into a few weeks ago, I wasn't home. We currently have two lights above our garage, one in each top corner. We have a 2-car driveway. I'm thinking of replacing either one of these lights or both of them with the Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro. The way our front yard is, there's a little bit to the left of the garage, then there's bushes and trees which block the view of my neighbor's house. To the other side, there's just a lawn, I'd say 25 feet, from the edge of the driveway to the other neighbors lawn. I'm concerned that if I just replace one of the existing lights, that it'll just look mismatched, so I'm considering doing both, even though I know each camera comes with two cameras on them. What would you suggest? I'm wondering if I just put one camera in along the top right of the garage, if in between both cameras that the device has, if I'll be able to see both cars and if someone is walking up towards the front of the house.

We have an electrician coming to install a wired-Pro. Our spot is similar to yours next to the porch door, not too high above ground. I wanted it higher, but realized the electrician cost would be triple the price to create a new outlet. Can intruders remove the camera easily i.e. if we miss the notification for whatever reason?

For setup, scanning of the code from the instruction sheet does NOT, or should I say for me did NOT work. I found the code on the light/camera and box. I scanned the code from the bottom of the box and setup was seamless.

No. Ring cameras connect to WiFi and there is no memory on the cameras or recording device they record to in your home. They connect to Ring's servers through the internet and all the video recording is cloud based. If your power goes out that most likely means your home network will also lose power (unless you have your modem and router on a battery backup as well) meaning even if a wired camera like this one had battery backup it wouldn't be able to connect to the internet to record anything.

BEWARE if you think "works with Alexa" means you can say "Alexa, turn on the light" you'd be wrong. To turn on the light, without it having detected motion, I need to find my phone, log in, find the app, log in, find how to turn on the light and do so. By this time the reason I needed to turn on the light has likely passed. I don’t need a $250 light that is falsely advertised.

We have a motion sensor that my husband wired into the two lights that we have on our 24x24 garage (one light on each side). You could do this with your left light which should be activated if there is motion picked up by the Ring

Depends on what you want to do. You can remove the light switch and wire it up directly if you want and put a blank cover plate on the box. Mine is like yours; connected to a light switch. I just left the switch in place. To keep power going to the floodlight cam you do have to leave the switch in the on position. To prevent anyone turning it off I bought a magnetic switch cover on Amazon which has been working great. Yes, you can see the live view. I don't know exactly how long the delay is, I assume it can vary depending upon your internet connection. But as far as I can tell, my Ring cameras have a delay of a second or two.

Yes you can turn the flood lights so they do not come on and the night vision will still detect motion and record just using the night vision.

All Ring cameras connect to your home wifi network but all the video recording and everything is web-based meaning they connect to the internet and record to Ring's servers. Since it's web-based you can access your cameras from anywhere in the world so long as you have an internet connection. This includes when using mobile data through your mobile phone provider.

Does this camera notify you while you are away so you can look on your phone to see what's going on? Do you have to purchase a Ring Subscription to get notified and see video? Does it store the video for any period of time without a subscription? Thanks!

Yes, you get notifications on your phone when motion is detected. Ring is really designed around their mobile app. The web interface isn't nearly as good as their mobile app. If you don't subscribe to one of their plans you only have access to live camera feeds. It only stores your recordings if you subscribe to one of their plans and it stores it for 90 days.

It sends you notifications when it detects motion or even people. You can of course limit the number of notifications you get or turn them off entirely in the app. There's a good amount of customizability.

Yes, that is correct. You can of course remove the switch and wire it straight in and put a blank cover over the box if you want. Then you don't have to worry about anyone turning the switch off. There's also switch covers you can buy to keep people from turning it off as well I bought these for mine. amzn.to/3lnDQrI They're super easy to install. They just magnetize to the screws on the light switch cover plate.

Yes, it's weather proof and no a subscription is not required, however you can only check what's happening live. To record motion events and stuff and go back and view them you must subsribe to one of Ring's Protect plans. When you buy a new Ring product you do get a one month free trial of their Protect Plus plan which is normally $10 per month or if you pay for a whole year at a time its only $100, so you get 2 months free when paying yearly. I wasnt sure about them and just went out and looked at them and they dont apprear to be any kind of normal bulb I've ever seen. They appear to be built in. I cant see any quick easy eay to get them out to replace them. I assume there is probably a way to replace them but if you can my guess is you'd have to order a replacement from Ring. But at the same time I know a lot of newer LED light fixtures are coming with non-replaceable LED bulbs that are supposed to last for the life of the fixture.

@@Catman1798 Yah, I don't know if theyre replaceable or not. I tried looking up replacement bulbs for it online and haven't found anything yet. I used to work in construction and like I said, I know that more and more of the new LED light fixtures are being made where they don't have replaceable bulbs but rather have LEDs built into them. The LEDs are supposed to last for 10 years or longer so they figure you'll replace the fixture before it dies. Using a stick up cam with your existing flood light would be a lot cheaper that's for sure. 😂

The light temperature is 3000° Kelvin so they're more of a warmer color but not super yellow looking.

This floodlight cam connects to your home network via WiFi. No additional wiring is needed. It does require power though so you need to put it where you already have an existing exterior light fixture but you don't need coax or network wiring for the camera.

The Ring app has a social element to it called Neighbors where people can share videos captured with their Ring cameras or post questions or other things. Putting your address in helps Ring show you posts from people who actually live in your neighborhood and nearby surrounding areas. From what I've seen people mostly use it to say they lost a pet or found someone's pet. People also post videos of suspicious activities, people, cars, etc. they've caught on their cameras, porch pirates and other stuff like that. Kind of the digital way of looking out for your neighbors.
