Great video, SPJ! Just went down the Quilter rabbit hole and this looks VERY promising! We’re using the Superblock US on the headphone boards now and it’s outstanding. Keep up the great work, friend!

Thanks for your review. I’m a three time Quilter amp guy so this piece of gear is very familiar for me. And FYI, CL80 IR is Celestion Classic Lead 80.

Sorry to sound ignorant but. Is this an amp or a pre-amp? If it is an amp what is the wattage rating? thanks
@SeanPierceJohnson18 күн бұрын
@@roberttambuscio1061 it’s really more of a preamp in the sense that it doesn’t have a power amp. The name implies that it is meant to run Direct to front of house or DAW but have the experience of using a good guitar amp

@@SeanPierceJohnson Ok got it thanks. I'm looking at a seymour duncan power stage 170. This is basically an amp with no effects. I'm thinking this would work well with the Quilter?

Might be a weird question but is it possible to bypass the unit? I am thinking about having on my pedalboard but sometimes I still use an amp so I would like to be able to just bypass it without having to manually rewire the pedalboard every time I want to use an amp vs the direct amp

@@SeanPierceJohnsonWelcome dear. I don't care if it's got tubes in it or not, from the demo it seems it's got excellent dynamics and tone. And its very reasonably priced compared to other Quilter products. I am going to try it out soon.

Can you bypass it and use a different pedal that’s in front of it?
@latontolog4 ай бұрын
I believe the reason there is no option to put your own IRs in it is that the amp sim on the Direct Amp is analogue rather than IR based. So it's simply a completely different technology. Agree that IRs would have been preferable, but also would have raised the price of the unit I guess. :)

@@joesaxon6566 well I have. two of my favorites in fact. the thing is, when I make these demos I have to consider who might be watching and not myself. I know it’s not technically an amplifier but to call it an amplifier helps to drive home familiarity. Every guitarist Knows how to use an amp, so let’s just use amp as a colloquial term to avoid confusion.

I've got an Aviator Cub and a SuperBlock US. I understand this to be an amp simulator. You're calling it an amp. I don't see any speaker out jacks! Sweetwater calls it a "pedalboard-friendly amp simulator."
