A wonderful10 minutes of well founded ways to view the process. I will direct my students to this video and use it as our intro to ab initio students. Well done Joel

When I started my flight instruction 50 years ago, there wasn’t too many instructors like you. Some of the old guys were but the young guys were just putting in their time to go to the airlines and still that way today you are a gem my friend and I appreciate this video more than you’ll know.

This is excellent, thank you so much for posting this. This is invaluable advice. About 25 hours into my PPL and happy to say I lean more towards the puzzle I think. It took me months of just looking at the puzzle in front of me and deciding if it was something I would want to take on. I’m almost too logical to where I want every part figured out before I start, almost like looking at the picture on the puzzle box and planning my every move. Money, sure, but the whole process and potential outcomes in the future. It can be hard though despite being a puzzle person to keep my expectations in check. I’m teaching myself to not become frustrated with the learning process.

Luckily not frustrated, but 30+ hrs into my flight training I can totally relate to your explanation. A must-see for wannabee pilots!

My Flight Training was a puzzling puzzle. 2003. But I’ve pieced it all together now. 😶😶Finally. 😊 ( my instructor had a few of his own pieces missing) I was never frustrated, surprisingly.
