He performed this live at the last concert of his D-day tour and it was extremely emotional. He had a hard time getting through it and the fans sang the parts he couldn't. I love artists that write their own songs because you can tell it means something to them when it's performed. Enjoy your reactions 😊

Apparently, he was emotional because he was not going to be performing until 2025. He started choking up 2 songs earlier.

The four songs he got emotional on were personal, about the other members/army, his friend, a message to his juniors of support and one about his own struggles over the years. Having Jhope, Jin and Namjoon in the audience also probably heightened his emotions. At any rate he put all he had into that last concert and it was incredible 💜

@@ttucker330 not denying that at all. My point was that it wasn’t purely because of his “Dear Friend”. There WERE contributing factors. I was going to use his live show as a reaction video until I heard there were other factors. Another point is; his collaboration with Jungkook m.v. just doesn’t hit the spot for me.

many korean people say the "friend" is probably rapper Iron. They used to be a very close friend since iron is a former member of BTS before they debut. These two are rapper and share the dream together but he decided to out from bighit because he didn't want to be an idol. His dream is became a raper. He went to jail because of drug in 2016 and this song release in 2020. After out from the jail, he is really like a monster, he has a lot of criminal scandal and he passed away now. That's why a lot of people believe that's the reason why suga got very emotional when he sang this song live especially in "if I had to stopped you back then, would we have remained as friends" part

@@btlongest8376 i don't think this song is about iron because the member that knew iron the longest was actually RM. Besides that the lyrics spoke about someone he knew back home before he moved to seoul. Plus in the BTS book, he said that he actually tried to contact that old friend back because he missed him and asked his old friends about him, but that friend really cut off contact with him.

I just stumbled across your channel and really enjoyed your reaction. A lot of what you said about the song was spot on as Yoongi a.k.a SUGA (his BTS stage name) a.k.a Agust D (solo work) has a huge interest in psychology (he's been studying it for some years now). He has also spoken about going to therapy and healing through his music. As the soloist Agust D's popular songs like Daechwita, Haegeum, Agust D may be more trap rap/diss tracks but he's always been very vulnerable in his music. Multiple B-sides of his 3 mixtapes/albums like 'The Last' 'Amygdala' and his bts solo tracks like 'First Love' & 'Nevermind' are very raw, emotional where yoongi lays bare his soul. Almost all of the tracks I've listed are written, composed and produced by Yoongi himself and I hope you react to some of these.

Agust D and Suga (member of BTS) are both the same person - Min Yoongi. I know it gets a lot of people confused especially since Yoongi likes to play two characters in his Agust D music videos. And yes like you mentioned he is STILL a member of BTS. They are currently leaving for the manditory military (two members already left), and Yoongi is next, he already submited his application and can leave literally any day now. BTS will reunite in 2025, Yoongi has his own interview series called Suchwita (a mix of his BTS name Suga and his Agust D song Daechwita). And just this week the interview with the last 7th member was posted and in all of their interviews they talk about their solo music and how excited they are to be back as a group, to make group music, to go on a group tour, to go on a group trip. Especially Yoongi who also just finished a solo tour wants to do a group tour... so yeah... he is not leaving BTS ... ever.. since he keeps making us imagine how they would look like when they are 60 and performing hahaha He does mention in one interview how some people are confused why he likes being in BTS. But he said he doesnt enjoy the spotlight and he is perfectly happy being in the background of a group where he has his own role and has other members to cover for him in other areas he isnt comfortable with.

to be honest, most of agust d's songs, have deep meanings and topics. it is just that those where you can't really think of a deeper meaning are the songs getting more popular. but if you really listened to his songs, you would find the majority lets us see his inner self and his (past?) struggles with depression, social anxiety,... . the same goes with BTS' music by the way 😉 (english is not my native language, i apologize for possible mistakes)

After a bad reaction I had to one of these tricks I walked away from the biz. yes he is part of BTS they also do solo work. We won't see him now for a while due to starting his manatory military service for 21months. He's the 3rd member already gone the other 4 will be in by the end of the year. They re unite in 2025 Jin will be back first and we are expecting he'll put his solo album out before the other's return from their military duty.

Frankly I would have preferred Sonja did not explain the track to you ahead of time. It instigated your lengthy explanation rant even prior to getting to Suga's verse. To me the rant made valid points but due to you listening only to the chorus it wound up being somewhat detached from the meaning of the song. That's a bit frustrating as an opinion derived strictly from a first listen hearing is the kind of reaction which I prefer. I personally think you got distracted going on about the druggie friend and weren't that concerned about this being more an introspective of Suga's memories and emotions of a friend who for all intents and purposes no longer exists. Youth has moved on and there is no longer is a place for him. To me the circumstances of his being a druggie are almost incidental to what we all do. We move away from people who do not fit our path forward. And then we all have those moments when for whatever reasons we reflect back thinking what if it were different. Ultimately, we realize the reflection is just a chance to compartmentalize our emotions from our past. I think you started to get that later in the reaction but reading the explanation provided to you set off a lot of valid rants which happened to be somewhat distanced from the core of the track. As such, it was a bit frustrating. To be honest, I have seen a similar inclination to speak authoritatively prior listening to much of tracks before on this channel. It has sent you on tangents before. I think listening to more of tracks before speaking would improve your reactions. You are quite intelligent but sometimes a reaction is best being a reaction.
