Welcome to Episode 10 of my playthrough of the "Indigo Disk" DLC for Pokémon Violet! In this episode, after a quick detour to unlock that hidden room we couldn't get into last episode (since I found the way to get to it between recordings), it's time for a rematch with Kieran -- this time wielding the power of Terapagos, the so-called "Hidden Treasure Of Area Zero", a Legendary Pokémon supposedly written about in the Violet Book, that Kieran sniped from us last episode with a Master Ball. But we all know Kieran isn't the main character, so it's not long before it becomes apparent that the latent powers of Terapagos are too much for Kieran to keep under control!
Can I use my main character plot armor to keep Terapagos's power from running out of control? Will the off-the-charts Terastal Energy of Terapagos consume us all? Will Ms. Briar so much as be reprimanded by the Blueberry Academy administration for endangering two of her own pupils AND a foreign exchange student? FIND OUT TODAY!!

Hey everyone, welcome to Episode 10 of my Let's Play of Pokemon Violet's Indigo Disk DLC! It's time for the final showdown with Kieran and Terapagos! Episode 11 is already recorded, I just need to edit it for (hopefully) tomorrow. After that, there might be a slight gap between 11 and 12, just because I still need to record the latter, and obviously New Year's is coming up and I'm not 100% sure whether I have plans for that or not, haha. So, if there's a slight gap between the upload of Episode 11 and Episode 12 (not guaranteed, but still), don't be surprised, but obviously I'll try and get that going ASAP! I hope you'll talk to that man Briar mentioned. A little hint: now that Miraidon can fly, try to fly up all the way to the top of the Terarium Core. Some spoilers regarding how Terapagos and the Stellar type work: You didn't get to see it, because you used Toxic on Terapagos, but Terastal Form Terapagos has an Ability called Tera Shell, which makes it so that when Terapagos is at full HP, any damaging move used on it will be not very effective, regardless of their type. So it's kinda like Multiscale. Stellar type is a pretty unique type in many cases. For example, regarding type matchups, its neutral against every type, but super effective against other Terastallized Pokémon. Only Tera Blast and Tera Starstorm can be this type, and with Tera Blast, the Pokémon using it suffers a drop in Attack and Special Attack upon using it. Oh, and that limitation of only one move per type getting the Stellar Tera Type boost? That doesn't apply to Terapagos. Even outside of Tera Raids.

Coming back to read this comment now that I've recorded the last few episodes of the LP (which will be up over the course of this coming week, obvs), and wow, that's interesting! Also funny how I kinda cheesed my way around the Tera Shell thing without even knowing about it, haha. Kinda reminds me of how I beat Ultra Necrozma by using Zoroark disguised as Decidueye and it kept trying to Photo Geyser me.

@@SuperNerdDaniel I believe "Achievement in Ignorance" would be the correct trope to describe what you did. And yeah, that's a strategy I've seen multiple people use on KZbin. I think I used it myself too, since I used a Zoroark too in my Ultra Moon team. Oh, and some people have already pointed this out, but with all the starters in the game now, just imagine what Contrary Serperior can do with a Stellar-type Tera Blast: guaranteed super effective damage on opposing Tera Pokémon with benefits instead of drawbacks.

Indigo Disk Episode 10 comments: - When Terapagos used the move Tera Starstorm, I imagined it shouting "Tera Starstorm!" like Ness and Lucas say "PK Starstorm!" in Super Smash Bros. - Ugh, most of this episode just serves to remind us how much better these games would be with voice acting. It wouldn't even have to be for the whole game, just the most important cinematic stuff would be fine. Zelda's been doing it since 2017, and other games have been doing it for even longer; Fire Emblem, Kingdom Hearts, Persona, and Xenoblade all come to mind. What's taking Game Freak so long to get with the times? - Hey, go easy on Kieran! The game gave him such shit in the Teal Mask; let him have his redemption arc. I was actually hoping he'd get the final shot on Terapagos, so I was satisfied. - I had a feeling Briar wasn't actually evil, just overly ambitious. Pokemon doesn't seem to want to give us real evil villains anymore (just like Disney, it seems), and that's disappointing if you ask me. At least we got one at the very end of Legends: Arceus. - Okay, now that her story arc is pretty much over, I have to say… I don't like Carmine. We never see her apologize to Kieran for the way she treated him in the Teal Mask, or even admit that she was in the wrong for trying to shut him out of her little quest with you. She's really the one who sent Kieran down the dark path (and then the game forces you to be complicit), and now everything is just supposed to be okay between them? Take it from someone who was a jerk to her little sister for most of our shared childhood: Sibling relationships aren't mended that easily. I said during the Teal Mask that I was glad the misunderstanding between Ogerpon and the townspeople was resolved so quickly, but that was really just because I wanted that whole story line to wrap up sooner rather than later. - QOTD: My favorite character introduced in this DLC dual pack is Lacey. She's cute, she specializes in Fairy-types, she's the kind of student I always was in school, and she has easy-to-surmise blood ties to two of the gym leaders from Pokemon Black/White. Crispin is a close second because I love his attitude and I always appreciate a good cook.

Is one of the things you want to do now is to visit the Crystal Pool in Kitakami? (Yes that is a hint towards something, no I won't say more).

Yup! I've heard that there's something to be done there (thankfully I've avoided any spoilers as to what that might be), so somewhere in the next few episodes I'm definitely gonna swing by that way
