Core Rulebook, Building Better Worlds, and Colonial Marines. In that order. Incidentally I'm 2 out of 3 on it.

Starter set, core book, and colonial marines. Heck, just watching this video makes me want to run some sort of loosey-goosey 1-shot for my game group. "You wake up from cryo-sleep and... " >:-]

I got the core book and then, I was gonna get the dice but found out getting the Starter Set (which came with the box) was a better value. Then, thanks to you I got Heart of Darkness and Destroyer of Worlds. BTW if you've never checked out Hostile by Zozer Games, Dude...do yourself a favor and check THAT out. It's amazing.

The games, Alien Isolation and Alien Dark Descent are both surprisingly good, much more worse it than the bad films in the Canon, which makes it a franchise with a particularly rich rooster of good products, like, if Alien, Aliens, Romulus and those 2 games are good products, then there more good products in Alien than in most franchises. If you count Blade Runner as the same universe, oohhh, then you have something really interesting going on. And yes, the RPG from Free League is amazing

On the Alien RPG specifically, when issue that came up was progression, my players felt that there wasn't much in terms of mechanical character progression to be had. I ended up with the impression that the system is optimized for small campaigns of 2-5 sessions tops, what do you guys think? Did you feel it too? Did you find a solution to adjust that player perception? I love this setting and this RPG book so much, it is gorgeous, I need an excuse to convince my buddies to play it again xD
