This build series brings back memories of wrenching with some my best friends. Stupid motorcycle projects, silly car things, even landscaping and building projects. Thank you for reminding me of better days. Someday I'll get a dumb project again and drag a buddy into mashing a finger or two with me.

The look on Andy's face at 58:47, and the camera work/music - really sets the tone well for the series, I think. Well done, everyone. What a great looking truck

I would rate this build as the coolest one I've seen, no question about it! Personally not a great fan of patina, rather see a single stage paint job, but excellent concept as well as execution. Great Job Guys!

That first time the new build moves...even a few feet...on its own is a moment that you get to keep forever...I have a few of them, but the best was in 1981, when, after starting with a Chicken coop in 1973, Dad and I fired up the stroker flathead in the 40 Ford sedan and took it for a spin. Last licensed in 1960... Fresh black lacquer paint, him sitting behind the wheel on a cut down folding chair, and me on a couple cases of oil, holding a jerry can of gas between my legs, the fuel line going out the cowl vent to the 3 Stromberg 97s we had built from cores....hitting the pavement and seeing 35 years melt off of him in a smile I will never forget..I am sure I had one too. He passed two years later...but the car is still here, with me...

While most people use nutsert and rivnut interchangeably there is a difference. A nutsert is generally pressed or moulded or glued into plastic or wood or even stone . A rivnut or rivet nut is a panel nut that uses a flare that expands when compressed to secure it to a panel. Then there are panel and cage nuts and J nuts and T nuts.

This is an awesome build, that said, l have to say l cringed when the back fender lips were cut to clearance the tires 😬🤔, it will be much safer for the drive back home to Canada 🇨🇦 😀. BUT ... So much completed this time around, great crew. It would be nice to have your hosts come to Canada 🇨🇦 and build a rusted out car? Or truck? A van? Just so they get a feeling of what it's like to build here. Once they get their shop cleaned up? 🤣 Great idea Rich, and such a great truck to build! Are you concerned about anything 🤔 for the drive home? Rain? Charging? License & insurance? Flats? Do you have spares? Really, it should be a walk in the park! Enjoy and have so much fun. ✌🏻👍🏻🤘😎🌤 🇨🇦 😛.

I have really enjoyed this build with all the individuals involved. Lots of fun.. I sure hope you recheck the toe on the front end . It wax set to 3/8" toe out according to what the measurements were.

Final adjustment was 1/8” toe in, when it was 3/8” toe out, the one tie rod was stuck and the 1/2” had to come out of that side to keep things centered (ended up getting it)

@Barry Soetorro That looks nothing like a ten year old rusty Canadian truck. I understand that not everybody likes patina, but we can agree that a surface patina looks very different from rot.
@jaredlancaster4137
@jaredlancaster4137 Жыл бұрын
@Barry Soetorro I can understand thinking that way, but I see it very differently. Patina like that tells the story of that pickup over the last 60 years in a way that clean new paint can't. Also a contributing factor is that I'm too young to think that looks crappy. My whole life, crappy paint has been a '91 Geo Prizm with peeling clear coat, and this kind of multilayered patina has been Tow Mater cool. Totally different look and totally different feel.
