It started way before then. The online censorship really began when Amazon bought IMBD right around the election of Trump. They promptly deleted the user forums. Their reasoning was it was “too toxic”. Soon other companies quickly followed suit, and removed user review and discussion forums themselves. They also changed their rating formula, and came out with their own special one. Netflix got rid of their rating system and changed to a thumbs up and down. Reddit began banning comments and users. The other Holllywood review sites took note, and copied IMDB. Twitter, KZbin, and Facebook began censoring soon after. They all colluded to silence Alex Jones, who was the canary in the coal mine. Their reasoning was because he bullied another reporter. This all happened shortly after Trump was elected. The true reason they did all this had nothing to do with bottom lines or any other reason they claimed. It was about protecting and expanding their power. It’s why they strategically eliminated all the most effective, well spoken anti-establishment voices first by applying the new rules (ism’s) to them. They then propped up more extreme voices and painted them as on the side of the anti-establishment, therefore turning off regular people to the movement altogether. Now the same thing the anti-establishment voices were warning about pre 2016 is coming to pass. They have taken out their biggest enemies, and now they are coming for the normals and their own. That’s why so many people are just now waking up. They should have defended Alex Jones when they had the opportunity. First they come for them, and then they come for you. That’s what corruption does. It has no allegiance to any group or anyone but themselves.

What's interesting is, these same people who cry about review bombing use even more sinister methods to try and manipulate the algorithm. There are a lot of creators that have posted analytics that show an increase in subscribers when they haven't put out a recent video. Then when they post a new video, a bunch of those new subscribers suddenly downvote and unsubscribe, which can tank a video on the algorithm. It seems to be targeted at smaller channels that have recently gone viral or grown in popularity. It's pretty wild that they will devote that level of commitment to silence people they find offensive.

By taking this route, they dig their own grave, because while it can make for a short term profit, it ruins their long term value. And if they don't have value, then the "grease money" stops coming. And then it ends. Talk about shooting your own feet. Anyway, it's not like they can't be replaced, after all their "good model" was an easy model. Put the movie in, let people vote on it. Done.
