A tai chi senior of mine who was an avid open water kayaker described it as placing your gaze on the horizon not as if staring out looking for something in particular but just gently resting your gaze where the water meets the sky

Awesome, Forrest! It goes hand in hand with Barbara Fredrickson's Broaden-and-Build Theory of Positive Emotions. In a nutshell, she states that cultivating positive emotion literally opens our perception and helps us cope better with the challenges life has. When we are stuck in negative emotions, our perception narrows down, which prevents us from seeing different approaches to the challenge at hand. Thanks for sharing. Blessings and blissings!

Beautiful Mauricio! The more we practice joy, bliss, and love the bigger our left amygdala becomes! So I totally agree with Barbara Frederickson! Thank you so much for bringing her to my attention! You're the best! 🤩🤩🙏🙏🙏🌹🌹

Isn't this amazing, I very much like riding my motorcycle on a twisty road and it was on a motorcycle that I had one of my first mystical experiences. After a week from hell I went to see a good friend and the first hour or so I was riding in a slightly Illegal way, then something happened that I will remember forever. I left home again, came after myself along that same road, landed in myself and everything that bothered me was no more. This makes more sense now. I am beginning to see that the roadsigns have been everywhere all the time. In people, in my books, my records, happenings. Happy to share this with everyone who is looking for a broader horizon. Grazi Forrest.

Hi Forrest, great content! have you tried the eye movements technique while keeping the eyes open? I would write down each of your negative emotions. Then look to my timeline therapy walkthrough, and go through each negative emotion. The purpose of timeline therapy is to relieve the burden of the past so that our memory becomes a storehouse of wisdom, rather than a torture chamber.

I’m not able to reach Pratyahara, I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong, I was so enlightening by the science that immediately sat down to work on it. I did reach a level of calmness and relaxation yet I felt that I’m plateauing right there and not moving forward. But have to hand it to you, there’s a major change in my meditation, I’m actually meditating now even though I haven’t felt the PH yet.

When I do Hakalau my perception or attention starts to pulsate left, right,left, right and I can rarely make an expansive balance. I can, however expand only to the right like Todd Murphy suggested or above my head. But rarely on both sides, which feels best and most expansive.

What do you think of those energization exercises before meditation that SRF teaches, Forrest?
@ForrestKnutson
@ForrestKnutson 2 жыл бұрын
They can be very good especially if you are a little bit low on energy or a little bit sleepy. I did them for years before meditation and then I started to get too much of a charge and it would unbalance me the other direction.

Namaste Forrest ji. Why is it so that a meditation practice becomes somewhat less effective after a period of time? Do we get lazy or is it something else? My outbreath has naturally become very long but still no tranquil breath.
@ForrestKnutson
@ForrestKnutson 2 жыл бұрын
Sometimes we start with a lot of interest and a lot of enthusiasm = inspiration to start. So the heart is very involved. Then we calm down about our practice, and we need to find a way to reinvest our heart. Try out the Cute Baby Meditation for a little bit each day, and see what happens.

what happens when you use both hakalau and concentrate in one point at once? basically using the whole brain
@ForrestKnutson
@ForrestKnutson 2 жыл бұрын
Yes that's right. But we usually use the right side of the brain so little, that the technique does end up to be predominantly a right brain experience.

speaking of right and left. i realized that if i always meditate facing east (as kriya yoga instructs us to do) I end up always meditating with the sun on the left side of my body (im on the southern hemisphere), and im thinking, doesnt this create imbalance? Cus we feel so much more on 1 side, and nothing on the other?
@ForrestKnutson
@ForrestKnutson 2 жыл бұрын
That's a very interesting thought! The idea with Facing East is that you will be in the direction of the magnetic movement of the Sun from east to west. This will help your meditation very slightly, but it is a minor point. Like sitting on a Woolen blanket. What will affect your meditation much more profoundly would be a little bit of intermittent fasting. As an example. 🤩🤗🙏

Today I was with client which have to use machine helping him to breath due to his health condition, at some stage he asked me where those two people which were sitting next to us are gone. I was curious and asked him questions but he let it go and fall a sleep Once his wife came back i asked her about his vision. She said that due to carbon building up and not enough oxygen it's what is happening to him The answer really didn't sit with me What is your take on that?
@ForrestKnutson
@ForrestKnutson 2 жыл бұрын
Amazing, Mike. When the breath gets long, or is modified in this fashion, or when we are in an extreme condition, then it will help put us "close to the other side" and we might have a dualistic vision in this fashion. Friends and family that have passed on, or guardian angels might visit us. This happens so often that there is often literature in the hospitals on this kind of thing, relating to NDEs.

Do u believe in deities or spirits,there r experiments where a picture is imprinted recorded in water according to the meditator's mental picture to the deity he or she worships,look up Dr Robert Gilbert for more info. A lot of rishis or yogis in ancient times through some intense mental processes made an imprint of certain energies in the world and we call them Hindu deities today,what r ur thoughts?

I see this from both sides. The spiritual side and the brain side. Both are right, and I talk about this extensively in the Talking To the Higher Self Training. ;)
@rkatz0
@rkatz0 2 жыл бұрын
Well, is it because I am trained already? I have no way to test this. I don't really know many folk that would want to do an experiment. However, when I direct any small phrase, or mantra, or concept / thought, anything, to the third eye, the effect seems to be automatic breath regulation, number one, this goes without paying ANY attention to the breath, if I focus on the breath, ok, it still goes to regulated mode, and this is not my mind controlling it, or perhaps it is and I just don't know it. The body calms down. And it seems there is an expansion. I guess this is what is happening. So then, this is also Hakalau? You mentioned the yogi, in a long period of meditation, for me, this seems to occur within one or two breaths only. So then, this is due to training, or some universal "switch"? I mean, could I find some individuals who will try it, and they will not perceive an affect at all? This is my real question.
@rkatz0
@rkatz0 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah. Boom. Imagine that. Bring ANYTHING to the third eye. Hm....that simple eh?!
@ForrestKnutson
@ForrestKnutson 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is happening because of your practice. You have developed it. So for example when I say it happens to the yogi automatically because he sits in the dark for a long time. What happens is the body and the subconscious get the idea and then the yogi will sit down, and as you say it will happen in minutes. So yes, this is perfectly in line with the effect that the practice of Hakalau gives you.
@ForrestKnutson
@ForrestKnutson 2 жыл бұрын
And no, unfortunately, it's not something that you could teach easily because each person will not look into the spiritual eye or regulate the breath as your practice has led you to. If you taught them HRV resonance and Hakalau together, then you could begin to see if they got anywhere close to the same effects of what you are experiencing.

@@ForrestKnutson I tested on one that claims to have done no meditation. I had him close the eyes, look at the ajna, then open. Then I asked him to picture a recent thought and perhaps a few words or phrase. Then I asked him to place it in the ajna, for a few repetitions, about 10 seconds worth. He said it brought a lot of stability to the thought. Not sure what that means. I guess I would need to test a hundred or so more to get an idea! ;)
