Mac has ALWAYS been in love with Dennis and Dennis always used that to his advantage. Mac becoming how he is now is just a continuation of that same dynamic. He is older and wants desperately to hold on to the “relationship” he has, which is now 15+ years deep. Also, you have to multiply everything Mac does with daddy issues. Literally everything he does is for approval.

This was a nice bounce back after the last episode being kinda meh. It gets even more meh on the next episode. Episodes 8 and 9 are really good. You'll enjoy the finale of this season more if you go into it knowing it's a "meta episode" but they're so on the nose with it this time that you guys will figure that out instantly I'm sure. I agree with you guys that making Mac's character arc just being obsessed with Dennis is annoying. They do more with his character next season. Next season is better in general.

I like that one. All in all, id consider 14 and 16 the worst seasons of the show.

In the real world, the Guigino's set got torn down, so the in-show restaurant doesn't exist anymore.

The building was sold where they filmed the restaurant in the lobby. Which used to be home to a newspaper or some shit like that.

Think he means style. The earlier seasons the humour was more about the situations the characters would find themselves in, from 6/7 the humour was more about the characters themselves, the situations became less primary while the characters got less secondary. Mac being fat was a cartoon move for sure, and most of us loved it
