You were almost there, Eric... Robert Kardashian was the name of Kim K's father who was one of O.J.'s lawyers. He passed away from cancer in '03 and left four kids behind. He and the mom, Kris, had been divorced a long time though - she remarried Caitlyn Jenner and they had two more kids. Hence the mixed Kardashian/Jenner family. 🙂 The circumstances of Kim's tape is unclear, other than that the only money she made from it was from settling a lawsuit against the company that released it. The Paris Hilton tape however was very clearly something that was released against her will, right after her TV show became popular, and that she has always said she felt violated and hurt by (including the filming of it, which she says was coerced and a form of abuse). She sued that ex-boyfriend and settled out of court.

Road manuals say to treat flashing yellow lights like stop sign intersections.
@justincollins4262 Жыл бұрын
It must vary from place to because that’s definitely not the case where I live. There are intersections here, especially in the more mountainous areas, with 24/7 flashing yellow lights. They seem to be in places where ordinarily the main road wouldn’t have any lights and the intersecting road would just have stop signs, but the visibility is obstructed enough by a curve and/or steep incline that they want to be absolutely certain drivers on the main road know to watch for other cars. Annoyingly, there are also a number of places with traffic lights overhead that exclusively flash yellow and are only activated when you are supposed to stop. They’re mainly used right in front of fire station garages to keep the road clear for vehicles to enter or leave, and they’ll have white signs attached that say something like “Stop on flashing yellow”. I have no idea why they couldn’t just use flashing red lights instead of yellow, but that’s what we’ve got.

Public access television is still a thing in many parts of the country, with many taking advantage of new technologies to move to either internet tv or use the newer available broadcast secondary channels from the switch from analog to digital. You can find them easily enough by checking for sub-channels on TV like 28.3, 11.2, etc...

Yeah, kind of interesting how that has developed over time. Initially we had AM stations on the radio, which were wide access, then UHF tv stations which were essentially public broadcasting that they just put on whatever they felt like, then proper PBS, which was more official and legitimate, then cable tv with anything you want channels, followed and soon after the internet bringing us, well, KZbin and 4chan. XD All that said though, I seriously, seriously do miss the golden days of PBS. Carl Sagan, Jim Henson, Bob Ross, Julia Child, Mister Rogers, Levar Burton, Bill Nye... they made so many of us who we are today, and taught us life lessons, as well important factual information, we simply wouldn't have gained elsewhere.
