A detail I’ve always enjoyed from this episode is that in the movie theater when Charlie gets scared by the 3D effect he jumps to protect Dee, I just think their relationship is bizarrely sweet (in an always sunny type way) and this adds to it

Yeah. It's my favorite of the happy ending episodes. They have a couple other wholesome endings that are nice too. The white trash episode, they team up against each other (Dennis & Dee vs Mac & Charlie), but by the end of it they're beating the heat, Philly-style by popping a hydrant and all having fun in the water. And the mortgage crisis episode, they end the episode by having a pool party in that rich families pool. There's a couple in later seasons, one involving Valentine's Day. I like when the episodes have a happy ending.

Fun fact: the intro where Charlie is talking about bashing rats is what got Charlie Day his role in Pacific Rim. Guillermo Del Toro was a fan of the show and when he saw this scene he was really impressed with how, despite being loud and erratic most of the time, Charlie could also be somber and mournful. He wanted exactly a combination of those things for his monster-obsessed scientist and cast him! In a couple of future episodes, Del Toro guest stars as Pappy McPoyle!

7:16 is such an underrated Frank moment, Danny's line delivery and facial expression is priceless and the line itself is one that I feel can be widely applicable in a variety of real world situations. Also, the debut of yet another beloved supporting character in the form of Z, a consistent scene-stealer whenever he shows up

GDT had apparently been a fan for a long time, he even helped develop his character (when he eventually cameo'd in the wedding episode) and some of the McPoyle family lore lol. It's cool to see how Charlie still thanks Guillermo pretty much every chance he gets in interviews, they seem to have a genuine friendship.

I think this might be the first actual time that Frank was the "villain" of the episode compared to the rest of the Gang. And it might also be the first time these guys actually turned against him lol. They usually give Frank more of a pass.

The dude in the middle doesn't seem to be enjoying it. Yes, the gang are terrible people, that's literally the point of the show. That's where a lot of the humor comes from. You would think by season 6 you would get it. If you're not into it, ehy sit there miserably? Hop off the reactions like the other guy did in the beginning when he realized it wasn't for him.
