I think i mentioned it before but I would also suggest to add plastic sheet/foil on that soil under your house..even as you mentioned you have no water there but for sure you have moisture and this will reduce moisture and that will improve your boards below your house also it will reduce amount of fungus and all that as there will be dry area instead of moist.

Nice job on the skirting under the extension. May I suggest some air vents in this to allow air to circulate. Will avoid damp and mould under the floor

Nice and toasty and ready for the first snowfall. Cold Wind blowing under the floor boards would've make a cold and damp home. Good job skirting the exposed areas.

Enjoy watching you guys work together on a project. The under pinning should make a big difference. So cool that you can mill your lumber when you need it. Wouldn’t that be nice for all of us. Lumber has gotten very expensive.

I live in the area where they set up a lot of mobile homes and one of the jobs I get to do is skirt them we do the same thing with reflex but to make a little easier we just tack the reflective cover to the plywood so we don't have to fiddle with it for us it makes it easier

Don’t forget to stack all your sawmill waste on stickers so that you can scoop it up easily with the tractor. 😊 Worth the time.

You're going to need to do something with the top of that folded up plastic insulation. If you're not planning to get that covered sooner than later, you've just created a plastic envelope to catch rain and hold it at the bottom of your plywood.

Still air is actually a good insulator, so in addition to shielding from cold wind, it will certainly be noticeable to have insulation and boards installed.

That looks good just hate it all your Gravel is used up maybeYou can get all your lumber sawed & stacked sense you only have a small amount to mill and it can air dry then if you get fresh fallen trees. This winter they will be stacked up ready to mill them.Sure Hoope neither one of you get sick .I'm Glad y'all got that job done. Before it gets any colder & Glad you could repurpise some of.the material's you had taken out.things are looking Soooooooo Good so Proud off Both of you & CAN'T HARDLY WAIT FOR NEXT VIDEO .STAY SAFE AND HEALTHY !!!!

Boss of the Swamp (JC) uses styrofoam under the runner board near the ground. He says it helps keep the water away from the board and allows for frost heave pressure when the ground expands in the winter and he's been building his cabins using this method for years. Kyles Cabin also just recently did this to his cabin and he has a video on it. - Here is the title o that video - Building A Warm Cozy Cabin For My Family In Northern Minnesota: Skirting The Cabin

Can you imagine how much warmer it would be If you would have put some insulation in between both those layers of reflectix?
@jamesm8753 сағат бұрын
Put the sawhorse at the back of the mill and rather than handle wood a lot of times place it in the horse as you cut scraps off the mill than as it is fills up cut it into firewood, rinse repeat . No more messing about with the Tractor and forks and a lot tidier.

Your skirting is almost identical to Boss of the Swamp and what I saw last week on Kyle's Cabin except for the hard foamular foam strips that they both had under the skirting between the ground and the bottom plate. Might want to condider it. Seems like a good form of protection against frost heaves distorting your skirting and trying to push up on your porch floor.

I appreciate you taking us on your journey. I really enjoy following you. Maybe I missed it but did you put an access panel to the area below the addition? If not I’d consider doing it so you can keep an eye on the moisture /mold level below and handle if you have a problem.
