The AI used to read your inputs for counters like a champ when the EA was out first. It really wasn't very fun. Could often see it how it would react before your animation even started after the button press. The new AI patch is once again a small step in the right direction and a lot more fun to play against when it doesn't derp too much. I've had matches where I've won every single round up to round 6, which really isn't difficult, the AI is piss easy right now, and it is still turtling up and doing weird shit, refusing to fight. So many little issues all over the place, but it's a lot more fun now than before. If something annoys me more than anything else about the AI right now, it is how the animations are messing up constantly. Like it's trying to do 10 different things at the same time and getting stuck into weird, glitchy loops, limbs going all over the place and clipping through its body and so on. Sometimes it even moves in the ring as if it was gliding or ice-skating, like the steps don't really follow the pace of the movement. I tend to do lots of test rounds every time a new patch drops. Doing things in the ring that you wouldn't expect. Stuff like not pressing or touching any inputs, seeing how the game reacts to it, or doing only one thing over and over, trying to break the AI. Making a great AI is difficult, but it really feels like they don't test things out outside of regular or "realistic" gameplay at all when they patch stuff.

The ai is much more fun to play. Still easy but the only thing it was well done related to gameplay in the update. I actually think it really gets better as the rounds progress. The problem at the moment is when it gets good his head is dead and still its not really defensively sound like the blocks and slips feel random. But yeah im also enjoying playing the ai right now martial XD Give me some hope for the game, at least the guy in charge of that part is doing a great job

I can’t stand these KD/KO animations. They need to understand the difference between a knockdown and a knockout. why the fuck is your opponent getting knocked down with the most ragdoll knock out animation possible but still has the chance to get back up? make better knockdown animations so distinguish the difference between a clean KO and a knockdown. Fighters do not go limp face first then get up and box another 5 rounds, if these devs keep preaching about realism they need to improve on this

I honestly think feints should be implemented WAYYYYYY more in the game to open up offense instead of just rockem sockem robots watch a real boxing match and you’ll see much more movement, much more feints and that’s how I stay unpredictable you don’t always have to throw punches … granted there are some fights and styles where they will stand there and bang but I think ppl need to understand that when they pick these characters so it forces you to have to fight like who they really are

That’s the dumbest idea I’ve ever heard in my life. UFC 4 striking is NOT good nor realistic and wouldn’t lend itself to boxing at all. The head tracking is also wayyyy stronger and the animations and body models are horrible. L take. Just choose a character in UFC 4 (3 year old game) and don’t throw punches if you want that

He had 22 title defences you’re missing his career at 168 he moved upto 175 for some super fights, but he retired because of injuries he would only be able to punch in fights his hands after injecting painkillers they were so messed up. So you have a boxer who couldn’t use his hands. He was a good fighter imo, fought Eubank and RJJ past their best but Bernard went onto do great things. You probably wouldn’t know Kessler or Jeff Lacy but they were good fighters too.
