It's Bigger than Me - OAC interviews Queen Latifah

The first thing and the MOST important thing is people on one side NEED to STOP insulting those who struggle with it and the ones on the side of it NEED to STOP idolizing the imagery of the BIG is beautiful mentality when it comes to the topic of obesity

Thank you for this. I have been struggling with how to talk with my youngest daughter about her weight. She is a beautiful, big young woman. But she shows me that she is uncomfortable with who she is. She has anxiety to the point that she doesn't want to go out in public by herself. I need her to know that she is not alone and there are reasons and solutions available to help her. PLEASE HELP ME HELP HER. She is only 21. PLEASE HELP ME HELP HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is an ad campaign for Wegovy, a weight loss drug. Really, the only, actually effective one. Problem: Novo Nordisk has made it so outrageously expensive that insurance companies won't cover it and no one can afford it out of pocket. I love Queen Latifah, but she if she and this company really cared about helping overweight people they would make their medication affordable

This is the problem exactly they hear you but they don't listen they listen but they don't hear you. That not only happens with chronic pain that leads to obesity that leads to diabetes that leads to a lot of different dysfunctions of the body you walk in it's blah blah blah and nothing is done. Now I have chronic pain in my spine and my hips most the time uncontrollable blood pressure and have been left to diagnose these things on my own by trial and error I can't take blood pressure medicine they won't listen to you about this because it makes my blood pressure worse you wouldn't believe it and even though my condition has caused me to be overweight if they had listened to me from the beginning I probably wouldn't weigh as much as I do now it's the lack of being able to move but now they throw it in my face you need to lose weight and I tell my doctor I wasn't fat when it started but you don't hear me you don't listen. And another thing I cannot take a lot of the pharmaceuticals I told my doctor I said if you could hold this for a few hours and it's worst with your education you would know exactly what it is it's going to be and you would be begging my forgiveness for not listening to me in the first place I walk out of the office and nothing's done.
