Hi Laura and Joe! My name is Breana and I just want to tell you two that I love watching your vlogs. I am a Jersey native from Hamilton Township, New Jersey who has been living in Southern California for 8 years now and seeing you guys go to Shoprite and to New York takes me back to happy times of my childhood. I am currently a Registered Nursing major and seeing your vlogs eliminates some of the stress of school. In this way, I am so happy that both of you are happy in your marriage, careers and social life. I am sending a bunch of positive vibes to the both of you :) You two are awesome and I hope I can have this same dynamic in my relationship one day as well.

Just a note to let you know that it was great to see my favourite couple doing 'odds & sods', and running errands before relaxing in your new home on my birthday today! Your house is starting to take shape, and won't it be fabulous to see it when it is completed; you will feel so accomplished! Great to hear that your brother and his fiance are coming for a visit this summer, and it would be awesome if your Nonna could make the trip as well! Happy Palm Sunday, and sending my love from Southern Ontario, Sherrey❤❤

When you get around to putting in your outdoor kitchen, get yourselves a "Big Green Egg". You'll both love it. You won't be sorry. Or you can get it now to be a companion to your regular grill. I have to admit I'm super jealous of your beautiful new home. I went to Target looking for the furniture you bought. Your style is wonderful. Joe you are blessed with such an awesome wife with so many talents. I wanted to let you know. My son was in St. Jude Children's Hospital. And I started watching you on KZbin from there waiting while he got Chemo. Love you so much. I have found a passion to bake and cook for my family thru you. Thanks for sharing it has been so wonderful to watch you.

I know exactly what you mean about feeling guilty about taking other trips, Laura. I am in the same boat as you as I recently got married and moved to the States and my family is in Canada. I miss them so much and feel like I should take any and all holidays to go home and see them. You just have to remember that they appreciate you coming to visit when you can and they would want you to not feel guilty if you go other trips as well. They want you to enjoy other places and have new experiences :) So, just try to not feel guilty (I should probably take my advice sometimes too haha) :)

We moved out into the country into the mountains, and what a change from the busy city life! And to shop, I "go to town" about 20-25 miles away!! It took 2-1/2 weeks to get internet installed! I have missed you guy's, I am just now able to start watching you again. I think Joe might have gotten his blood blister from playing with the magnets? Thank to for sharing, you bring me joy. My entire family (excluding my immediate) lives in Italy. Since we're such a big family, we've not been able to travel to see them in ten years. Laura, I totally understand how you feel about visiting your family...my family lives in India while we live here in California. Every other summer when my kids are off from school, we visit my family in India for 2 months, and when we are not going, my family comes over. So its like we see each other every year. But it still is so hard especially for me, since i grew up in a big family with lots of cousins, I feel bad that my kids dont get that. My childhood is what I cherish the most, wish my kids got that too :-(
@Printpaperandco9 жыл бұрын
If your fortunate enough to visit your family several times a year than I think you should. We have family in Italy, Ohio and LA and it's been several years since we have visited them. It's hard to get away for us due to work and school for my son, that travel is a luxury that we just can't indulge in very often. Your house is coming along very nicely. I know how challenging it can be to furnish a new home. We moved into our new place 2 years ago and we are always working on projects in the home, like painting, furniture, patios...etc. however sometimes other priorities take prescient like family events. So we just do what we can, when we can. So don't rush things and drive your self crazy to get things done right away. Joe, I think I can guess in what your working on in the basement. You can us a sneak peek via Instagram. How come you are being so secretive about it? Ciao for now:)

You guys are way cute! Laura you are not alone... I am the same way with all that geeky stuff, it's like I am listening to Chinese! Lol I know is a bit late, but I wanted to tell you that I feel the same way about visiting my family. For us here is a bit hard; it's 4 of us flying, so, between the expense, school and work schedules is almost impossible to visit as much as I would like to. The most important thing is to keep in touch regularly, even though that can't replace the moments spent together. I hope you get your Nonna to come visit!! Xo

Hello Laura and Joe, Here in the Netherlands we also say going in to town when we're go to a store and I live in the middle of our town. I can look to the stores when I'm looking out of the front windows of my house. Besides, I hope Joe will make some longer video's about all the electronic stuff he is working at because he makes interesting things. Not that I'm not interested in cooking from Laura or all other things you show us but I also like to do electronics for hobby. It's always nice to look at the recipes from Laura and some of them I used but we use metrics so before I have to calculate weights back to metrics. Not a problem and the results are always delicious and give me also new idea's about cooking things. Anyway thanx for all the nice video's and looking forward to the next one.

I don't think you should feel guilty for your short trips. Sometimes, you need those. Especially since you mostly go to places like Miami (HOMETOWN WHAT WHAT) where you can lay on your booty and do nothing for a few days. The way you guys work, you both need that every so often. While traveling to Italy is amazing for both of you, it's not exactly a relaxing vacation because you're so happy to see everyone that there is a pressure to move non stop at all times to fit everything in. Ultimately, you speak to your family very often and visit as much as you can and you should feel proud of that. Living in different countries could create a distance for you...but you haven't let it!!! Good for you guys. And I love how you both take each other's family as your own. It's beautiful to see. The house is coming along beautifully!!! Can we all come over for dinner?

Hi Laura! First of all, don't feel guilty going on trips on top of going to see your family, I think your family in Italy don't think twice before going on vacation and not to see you. My father lives in another country and I try to go see him twice a year but that's easier for me because it takes me only 1.5 hour to go there with a plane. But you know, he goes to Africa each year and rarely comes to see me. Second of all, I bought my house 2 years ago and it's far from finished, if you could see it! You have to go one step at the time to do it wright. I hope this helps you as much as you helped me move my life around and improve it! Chris

Hi Laura, in a previous video you made a comment that went something like "just give your Nonna a bag of potatoes" or something like that and it got me thinking. Could you do a series on LITK about meal planning and using left overs in upcoming meals. That is where I fail at meal planning. I hate leftovers and I hate waste. Also you are so lucky to have your Nonna. My grandmothers idea of cooking was opening up a can of soup, no heating required, and eating it over the sink. My mother could cook but when I was 12 it got too painful for her to do so and my father wasn't very good at cooking either, so I never learned. My poor husband had to suffer through my trials and tribulations of learning how to cook. LOL But he's still alive!

Joe, to keep the screen from flickering on the video, the camera's shutter speed has to be synced with the laptop monitor refresh rate (so basically the camera not only needs to have an equal shutter speed to the monitor's refresh rate, they both have to be time synchronized), which is basically impossible without getting super technical and not worth your time.

My family immigrated in 1969 and nearly everyone we know also immigrated and except for a few ppl most ppl never have the chance to go back and visit or only go once and its usually when they are old and are afraid they will pass away with out seeing their home one last time. Of my mothers whole family " she is the baby of 8 kids" she had one sister visit in 1994 and one brother in 2012 thats it. I don't think the average family can travel unless its for funerals. sad but true
