In the Dominican Republic all my mothers cousins are my aunts, all there children are my cousins and it will keep going with every generation, also here your best friends children are your nephews, and we love them as such. For me its just A LOT OF LOVE to give and receive!

I had so much fun watching you and your family members...eating such wonderful food. I felt like I was at my grandmas and grandpas house like in the old days when I was young. It was always filled with love, good food and warmth and when we had to stay over cause we lived far away..they would give us their beds and my uncle Johnny would sleep on a matress in the hallway with out a word of complaint. They were so generous and kind I will always love them in my heart and in my memories. Thank you for reminding me of what family is like. Mr. Sal is the coolest man after my dad. Lol. He reminds me a LOT of my dad who lives 6000 miles away from me. We are from Morocco and I live in the US. Morocco and Italy have pretty much the same food and we cook with thr same spices and ingredients since are noth Mediterranean countries (lots of seafood, olive oil, basil....). I wish I would meet u and Mr. Sal one day. I love watching u guys coz I feel my self back home

How do you clean the shrimp (devein) when you cook them with the shells on? Your Christmas dishes look amazing Laura!

You can slice them down the back and take the vein out and keep the rest of the shell on. I get them from my "fish guy" like that sometimes. I think they call it "easy peel."

Hi, I love watching your cooking shows. My dad and I enjoy them because he was also born in Naples and his cooking is very similar. Did you ever try putting dry figs in the pizza? That's the way my aunt makes it and it gives it a sweet and salty taste with the olives.
