Nemu deserved so much better than all of this, and I just wish she could have broken free from the monster calling itself her father. Even here, when she's expressing love at its highest form, Mayuri can only see her as his perfect creation and an extension of his will. I'm not as angry as I used to be, but I do fault Kubo for being too ambiguous about how tragic and awful this sacrifice really was, unfortunately. Ideally, Mayuri should have died, Nemu would be free, and then Uryuu would suddenly appear and carry her off into the sunset (or he just takes her hand and she prances with him). Of course, that is fanciful to the extreme. Still, it would have been nice to see other characters react to her death and even mourn her. RIP Nemu.
