You actually motivated me to completely change my life. Short version is I watched the video when you quit your job to ride Mtbs on the internet. I had a factory job I hated at the time so I thought if you quit a good job to do something else then I should try something else. I devised a plan to move to Colorado and start a business. I did and lived there for years. The business gave me a life I never thought possible. Now I live back in Kentucky and I have a mini van where the seats fold into the floor and I some stuff that turns it into a no build camper van. Now I am able to travel around mountain biking different places while still getting to be a dad. You played a massive role in that and I thank you and hope to be able to meet you someday and tell you the whole story. So yeah I went out and road something new 😊

SL ebikes do have a smaller battery, but they should be paired with a smaller motor as well. At least mine is. So the battery should last pretty much just as long as a regular ebike... you'll just have to work a bit harder on the climbs. For instance, the Levo is supposed to give you up to 4x your power, while the SL only gives you 2x. Personally, I chose a Levo SL because I still wanted a workout when I climb. I just didn't want to be totally dead after doing so, or possibly having the ability to do the ride twice instead of just once.

My wife and I have been riding Indian Falls oab for a few years now and yes on ebikes. You’re probably aware that the prior to this year had to ride 1500 feet and 4 miles of dirt road before you got to singletrack. Now thanks to the awesome Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship and their trail building wizadry that road climb has been reduced to about a mile. As for ebikes, don’t think the Ibis ebike is the best ebike to opine about handleability…from what I understand it’s a bit of a pig. That’s not to say that ebikes aren’t as maneuverable or playful as acoustic bikes but you should try and get your hands on an Orbea Wild, Pivot shuutle LT or Specialized Levo. Enjoy your videos. Happy Trails

Get another tiny home on wheels over a travel trailer. Travel trailer will be drafty in the winter, too many entry points for rodents, roof not meant for the snow load at your elevation, etc. On a separate note, BONC has been doing a lot of trailbuilding at the parliament trails, all volunteer work. Would be awesome to see some aluminum BONC pedals from TrailOne.

Consider a Ford PowerBoost F150-it will power your camper (7200w@30amps), and tow it, fuel mileage driving normal will be around 25mpg (mine does- 4x4 super crew, best 32mpg). Stupid fast (faster than a raptor stock vs stock) . With the way you do drive places, even if you do cut back, you will forever be looking and waiting for chargers. I’ve used mine to tow my camper from Va to California and more. Stopped where ever and power up the hot water, a/c, microwave and had a place to sleep. My truck has ran nearly 100 hours straight doing driving and power the camper for sleeping. Stayed in many state parks that said no generator after quiet hour and I had my truck on the whole time when generators need to be turned off-why? Cause it’s quiet, doesn’t run constantly and ubiquitous. Good luck with whatever you do! But dodge sucks😂

I got the Ioniq 5 bud. I like the car, lots of tech, long range package. The charging infrastructure here in BC is reasonably good for all EVs. Read up on repair issues, Hyundai is happy to sell you an EV, but if you have a problem with the main battery, it can be pretty expensive to replace. Less f an issue with Tesla I think. Not sure the solar set up at ‘everstoke’ can charge your EV effectively. Good luck. 😊

I try to ride fairly often, but 4h seems like a crazy amount to drive. I don't have enough miles in my personal tank to justify making that kind of drive. It seems silly to spend more time in the car - spending money on gas - than on the bike. And the longer the drive, the more difficult it is to avoid the hotter times of day. I don't think the novelty of a new trail versus the ones I like that are less than 15 minutes away really justifies the effort+cost regularly.

If you’re driving 30,000 miles in a year not only is leasing not a great idea but probably neither is ev. That charging time will really cut into your trips. While finding charging stations there in California and other major population centers might not be a big problem finding solutions on some of your more out there trips could pose major problems.
