IT'S DONE! 205mph Vmax with My OPUS GT BLACK SERIES

The OPUS Innovation upgrades are complete for my Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series! Let's put it straight on the dyno to see the new power figures, plenty opportunities for a sound check with the new exhaust, and then take it for a Vmax run on the Autobahn to the top speed of 205 mph (330 kmh).
After dropping off the GT Black Series at the end of the Black Series tour a few weeks ago, I am reunited with my Solarbeam yellow AMG supercar. During my absence, the team at OPUS installed a new exhaust upgrade to the car featuring HJS catalysts, which was developed in-house by the German company.
The exhaust changes are accompanied by a Stage 1 ECU upgrade to provide an additional boost in performance. The result is a mind-blowing hike from the stock 775 hp to 847 hp, which is close to 10% more performance on a mild tune. Further performance upgrades will be available in the future with OPUS planning a 1000+ hp version of the GT Black Series for anyone interested.
After listening to the system on the dyno and discussing the final results together with Lukas Domogalla, the owner of OPUS, it is time to take the GT BS for a short spin on local roads near the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Up on return at OPUS's workshop, we install a blow-off valve kit for more audible drama from underneath the bonnet.
The final part of the day consists of the ultimate test hitting Vmax and seeing how the upgrades have improved the performance of the GT Black Series. The results are astonishing and the mid-range performance absolutely blows my mind. 205mph (330 kmh) is the hard limiter, but it is capable of achieving so much more. Vmax limiter removal next?

As there were some questions on that matter: What you might think / what you hear being a slipping clutch when changing gears at higher speeds, is actually not the case here. While, 1st of all, the engine- and transmission-control units are still running a forced adaption during the next few hundred kms after the reflash, the most important thing is, that the engine torque and power are limited by a not fully opened throttle body, additionally limiting the maximum boost in the intake and causing a bit of an "overboost" building up before the throttle, making the gear changes at higher speeds sometimes a bit more sluggy during the learning process than you might expect. It has nothing to do with the tune. The torque reduction / shift strategy combined with the boost control also through the throttle body limitation is just completely different on this model than on any other AMG GT / GT S / GT R... Additionally, AMG is already working on refining the base-software and so are we, also in order to further improve the shifting "quality". Hey Tim, congrats on the upgrades. One thing that concerns me when you hit the autobahn is what sounds like clutch slipping going from 5-6 and 6-7. @21:07 You can hear the rev jump and the shift indicator come on for a brief second. This is somewhat typical when the ECU gets re-mapped and the TCU doesn't. At this type of power level, additional pressure is required on the clutch packs to ensure the power holds from gear to gear. I am quite surprised OPUS never took care of that. Please let me know if you notice that also. Cheers.

It could have also been a slight road imperfection. The road looks bumpy and the suspensions look stiff. Even Tim keeps jumping in the car. Given the speed he was doing, that might very well be the reason why the engine revved that way. Imo.
