Never in my life prior to finding your channel Stef, would I have ever thought I'd miss seeing someone fly their aircraft, and derive such joy from seeing their return! The fact you speak "pilot speak" and also explain things to us laypeople in understandable terms, I feel I should almost be part paying for the fuel each flight. Truly a joy to join you on your journeys my friend.

That's such a nice comment, thank you. I'm not a natural born aviator, not from an aviation background, maybe that helps me talk about it in that way. I basically treat KZbin as me talking to my friends in the pub anyway :)

Hey Stef, the upgrade looks fantastic! It’ll be just what you need for that much delayed round the world flight!😉 You might need to look at the settings on your camera’s though, that flicker might get a bit annoying for some viewers on your longer flight vids.

EYZ back in the air! I am guessing that you left the protective film on the Garmin screens until the dash has the batman stripes done. Peeling the film off would make a good Instagram reel ..... a peel reel. And once again your video makes me miss living in Melbourne, where if you don't like the weather, you just wait 15 minutes.

Beautiful panel, Stef. Congrats. One quick note: I saw that you used GPSS on the DFC90. You can just use NAV instead. I never use GPSS on my DFC90, neither do all the CSIPs I fly with.

Oh wow, the flight I spotted on flightradar? cool. I'm not a real pilot (My dad was though, me, I am simulator and RC) but I have a Garmin watch and love it, it has been my favourite out of quite a number of watches over the years. That panel though looks totally neat. Visually it looks so easy to look at and read than a noisy bunch of dials.

@johnathanasiou92842 жыл бұрын
Congratulation Stef & the new Garmin flight instruments are looking awesome!. My only "worry" is the standby instrument redundant power source should you lose the main displays. Now it's time to get more practice in, configure up the displays to have the moving map on the middle displays or exactly how you want them. Does the Garmin come with TCAS so you know where reported ADS-B traffic is?. As for the Red stripe, rather than waiting for a paint shop you could always look at say a thin strip of Red T-molding which they use on old arcade machines which is not just very durable & mounts via a centre groove routed into the panel & T-molding stuck down into the groove. Can't wait to see more EYZ flights & a super, awesome achievement!

I think the 275 might be the hero of this upgrade. It’s such a great bit of equipment, I feel bad calling it a “standby”.
@mr.ginnationfunlifestyle38912 жыл бұрын
@@StefanDrury but I suggest two 275 right next to each other. I think only that is a true redundancy in black out situations like no upper Screens working. Then you need one 275 for the horizon heights and speed and another one for navigation and further data. Only having one 275, to switch around all the time in bad weather, makes me a bit scary. I always don’t understand the one GI 275 solutions for such situations??? To me it needs two!
