Sorry to feel this way. Love the channel. But, watching him use those "left handed" pipe pliers, the wrong way, is so very cringy. First suggestion, only use Knipex. Far and away superior to most all brands. Secondly, turn them around . Give them a chance to work the way they are intended. I belive this is the reason most would see their use as "not correct". They are a perfectly good tool to use in this case, if used properly. Again, I love the channel. Don't change anything. Except the direction of the pipe pliers

Seeing 12V-13V means no charging. A used battery/good condition on its own should show 12.4-12.7. A working charger should show 13.5V to 14.5V, with highest number when the battery is discharged. When the battery sucks more power from the charger, the charger understand that the battery is empty and increases the charging voltage to about 14.5V and lowers it to about 13.3V-14V when batter is charged. If it doesnt lower the voltage it will cook off the electrolyte in the battery pretty fast. Hope this can help some young guys out there.
@philliptownsend28294 ай бұрын
Modern AGM batteries don’t work this way. You’re not wrong with lead acid. But agm batteries should never show more than 12-12.7 volts while charging. The only time an agm should show above 13.5 volts is at initial start up or during charging while driving and motor on. With vehicle off and hooked to charger it should read 12.4-12.7
@2nickles6473 ай бұрын
Perfect explanation. I've tried and tried to tell people that. Nope...my alternator is not charging even though my battery is fully charged. It should be pulling more volts. I need a bigger alternator. I see the battery is cooked. Sides bulging out and it's hot. I say sure, your car, buy another battery because this one is cooked. 😊😅😅

Anywhere where the cage doesnt triangulate will likely move, and where it is tied in, will flex but in a much less noticeable increment. The model A looked great under load throughout this video

Calculating those M18 threads out, if they're coarse, they're 2.5mm pitch, which is damned close to 10.2 threads per inch, you could have bluffed the threads in with your lathe. If it was the fine ones, they should be 2.0mm pitch, which is 12.7 threads per inch. Just eyeballing your video, they looked close to the fine thread. Just an alternative to cutting and welding (since my welds are fugly and hard to sell). The car is cool. Keep up the awesome work.

So do you have a surge tank that the low pressure lift pumps feed into for the main pump? So long as battery is healthy without engine on at 12.6-12.8V then it means your alternator isn't charging the battery at 14.4V. Fuel pumps these days need at least 12V and if a smart pump then it'll ramp the voltage up to maximum alternator output. Current draw is the next thing to check your wiring allows enough current for the pump to chug down. Niggling issues but it's all a learning curve and sure you'll figure it all out 😉
