Car detailing is really cool because there’s so much variety in products you can use. You can finish the job with cheap products but nice products get the job done usually 2.5x faster than cheap ones. edit: thanks for the likes guys

@CarolCityCane305 yes! Every car is different. This video shows a very basic wipe over. I only clean my own car, so I don’t do detailing as a business. From this perspective, I would only recommend to do this cleaning method when you are working on your own car. There are more efficient ways to clean an interior.

@RoadToDetailing
@RoadToDetailing Жыл бұрын
Obviously you do cleaning by considering your specific circumstances 👌🏻 I would clean and wipe almost instantly in that humid and hot environment. But you know that much better than I. ✌🏻 Other than that, I don’t use any “soap” here. I use a dedicated plastic interior cleaner in this video. Soap used only outside on the panels, and yet again, you probably won’t wait with a soap on the panels too long in TX. So all in all, TX is challenging for detailing regardless the cleaning chemicals, that’s for sure.

Thank you for the support mate. When it comes to sharing any content on the Worldwide Web, everyone is entitled to their opinion, trolls and commenters included. It shouldn’t be a bad thing, because we could learn from each other by sharing opinions, experiences and tips. However, when someone is only in the comment section just to elevate flame, that’s always a no for me. Arguing with people with the different mindset is a totally waste of time and effort. So I usually give my perspective and roll on. We don’t need to agree with people like them, and at the same time, it won’t hold me back from making future videos about my experiences 😉 I appreciate you are tuning in, and I hope you find my videos useful for your road to detailing 🫶🏻

Nice video. I found that plain RODI water works. It cleans well and it won't damage any type of surface material. Works great on glass too.
@RoadToDetailing
@RoadToDetailing Жыл бұрын
Thank you 🙌 Yes, that could work well, especially on glass. It’s not always a need of chemicals, however, specific products contain certain agents, that provide lubricants as well, so it might help about decreasing the risk of scratching and plain water is only a “solvent”. These are all theoretical, but I agree with the fact RO/DI water can be simply good on glass surfaces if the surface is not heavily greasy. Thanks for watching 🙌

What chemical are you putting in the brush? And what's a safe cleaner to use around electronic components?
@RoadToDetailing
@RoadToDetailing 5 ай бұрын
RR Customs Bad Boys - Plastic Cleaner. This is a mild ready to use cleaner (inside or outside) that is able to foam up pretty well. As for electronic components go, it’s a bit tricky. The main goal is to don’t soak them at all, clean and wipe immediately. If you have a chance, also use an air blower to remove the excess residue.

Any1 would be kind enough to explain to me that 1) do we wipe off the solution with dry or wet tower? 2) would the solution damage the car if leak into the crack or electronic 3) will it stain on the surface if not wipe off / wash off properly ( if option 1 is using dry tower?

My car has a mildew stain on the headliner. How can I destroy it? do you have an idea?😢
@RoadToDetailing
@RoadToDetailing Жыл бұрын
Headliner is a different cat of fish, because you have to be careful with the glue that holds the fabric in place. Meaning, you can’t really soak it deep with chemicals nor any liquid kind stuff that dissolves the glue, because if that happens, the headliner would fall off. 🙁 Something like ADBL Bonnet is specifically made for headliners, you need a very tiny amount on a microfiber cloth, wipe it, and it will remove a good amount of dirt. However! Results always depend on what kind of stain it is, so the outcome is not always 100%, but definitely better. Hope this helps, Viktor

Is the soap bad for all the switches and controls
@RoadToDetailing
@RoadToDetailing Жыл бұрын
In my experience no, if used with care. Meaning: don’t spray straight on the surface, instead: spray the product onto the brush, then start agitating the surface, so when you clean the control switches the product has less chance to slide deep in the wholes. As the surfactants will foam up, that helps preventing the surface from getting wet. This is usually the same principle as with leather cleaning, where you usually use a “foamer dispenser” and won’t spray the product straight on to the leather surface, because these surfaces don’t like to be wet, and that’s when “foaming” helps a lot. In short answer, if you use the products as they recommended you are more likely to be safe, but care should be always top priority. My method: Spray onto brush, agitate, then wipe it clean. And use dedicated products instead of harsh chemicals, especially if you are not familiar with the proper dilutions. Hope this helps 🙌

The level of difficulty varies depending on what has been spilled onto the different surfaces. You'd have to tackle them accordingly. I live in the southern area where a lot of people either live or drive by often in dirt roads. They can get quite difficult to clean at times. Sometimes I'd get some like the one displayed here. @@Poppi_Weasel APC stands for All Purpose Cleaner, they can stain / damage the surface if not used with correct dilutions. I would suggest to use dedicated Interior Cleaners, because they made for safely use them on dashboard and all surfaces inside. Most of them are Ready To Use products, and any of the more reputable brands will do a great job. Suds are more likely to come up when the chemical is being agitated, but it always depends on the surfactants used in the formulation of the product. My experience is that most of the ready to use interior cleaners have a sudsy outcome when agitated. Hope this helps to clarify. Which country are you at? RRC BadBoys - Plastic cleaner. This is an ultra soft bristled brush, so less likely to cause scratches than the “normal bristled” brushes. Of course, without cleaner there is zero lubricants, so this also could cause scratches in that scenario. On top of that, scratches can caused by dirt as well. With common sense and proper lubricants used, this ultra soft brushes greatly decrease the chance of scratches in my experience.

Thanks for your input Kevin. I personally think there are companies with better value for money packs than Chemical Guys, such as Detail Bug for instance. Which products you found great from Chemical Guys? I know there are some good ones from their range though 🙌

Isn’t it better to use a cloth and hard surface spray because the interior didn’t even look that dirty in the first place to use all that soap
@RoadToDetailing
@RoadToDetailing Жыл бұрын
Can be better. It really depends. This video is a clip from a product demonstration, hence the method I used. I followed the product instructions, that advised this method, so here it is 🙂 In case it would be an interior QD, or something else, a cloth would be enough, but I always follow instructions when I first use a product. Anyhow, a cloth could do a perfect job as well, you are right 🙌

Do you use ultra soft brush for the entire interior?
@RoadToDetailing
@RoadToDetailing Жыл бұрын
In this particular case:yes, I used it on the plastic parts. Check the related video at the bottom of this short video to see the full process. I used the products per instructions here, I don’t always use a brush for the interior, nor using the same method. It really depends on the dirt level, product, finish, wanted resolution. ✌🏻

Subbed as I am looking into all videos, groups, to gain knowledge to maybe branch out and make a side hustle in my spare time. Have you ever used Simple Green on interior for stains? It was recommended to me as a cheap start up chemical. I've also used it as a bug guts remover on the front of my vehicle.

Welcome on board 🙌 I haven’t used Simple Green at all just yet. But using an APC as a starter is a good option, just always be careful and aware of the proper dilution to prevent unwanted stains on the surfaces 👌🏻

@Road To Detailing what's the difference between this product and say some interior car cleaning spray. That's what i've been using to clean with a cloth and brush
@RoadToDetailing
@RoadToDetailing Жыл бұрын
The foaming agents make this product great in my opinion. Very easy to use, cleans well, and leaves a nice finish. Important to mention that is a ready to use product so this fact doesn’t make it cost effective, also, this made for plastic parts of car interiors, so you can’t use this on fabric per say. Thus, this is not an overall interior cleaner like Stjärnagloss Inni. If you are looking for an “all in one” interior product, RRC Plastic Cleaner isn’t the right choice. (Due it cannot be used on seats, carpit, etc.) But you can use this on any plastic surfaces like engine bay, and exterior trim parts, with no issues.
