Just turned 40yrs old this year bro! Awesome we in the same generation and '84 birth year! The late 80s and 90s were awesome time for animation. Besids Xmen, we also had Spider-Man TAS & BATMAN TAS as the biggest heavyweights.... Show is fire so far but the original intro is *STILL KING* to me.

@@briangressett902 i think during season 5 or after the phoenix saga, not sure, i forgot because the last scene i remember with mr sinister was an episode with an alien yellow robot-ish character...and somehow the x-men got captured and contained in an alien like capsule...there was this liquid-like form that swallows you up and control you...somehow they beat it and at the end of the episode, there is a scientist disguised as mr. sinister who got away and got all the samples needed...blood and all... the other scene or episode i remember was that when both cyclops and jean were captured by mr. sinister in a jungle mountainous land and had them attached to a machine and can't use there powers... i don't know if mr. sinister got the blood samples of both after they were rescued by the team...i wish i remember the episode number so i can just give it here for watching reference...

Btw, the Jean that shows up at the end of episode 2 is the real Jean Grey. The Jean that gave birth to Cable is actually the clone of Jean known as Madelyne. In the comics, Madelyne who is the clone of Jean has basically the same powers as Jean combined with sorcery like Wanda Maximoff.

I think they just introduced Madeline Pryor, who in the comic books was some kind of a dark clone of Jean Gray. I can’t quite remember the original comic book story line, but it may be the real Jean Grey just stumbled into the mansion, and unbeknownst to Scott his wife might currently be Madelyn. I love that they are tapping into these classic storylines from the Comic books in the 80s and 90s. Nice touch!

@@bananaguard454He first showed up in Extermination (2018) but I haven't read that yet. He plays a big part in the Krakoa era of X-Men, which is ending this summer. Mainly in his own series, which ran from 2020-2021, and in Fallen Angels (2020). He eventually went back to his own time after resurrecting his older self, and getting Scott, Jean, and Rachel Summers's (rachel's his alternate timeline sister) help defeating Stryfe, his evil clone who was kidnapping mutant babies. Now he's back in the 'present' and working with his older self in a 4 issue miniseries by Fabian Nicieza.

In the comics Storm jumped in front of Rogue from being shot by the "depower gun" who had recently joined the X-Men from formally being in the Brotherhood. It took years for Storm to get her Powers back but before she got her powers back she came back to the X-Men and Danger room battle Cyclops for leadership and beat him. Later she got her Powers back and that storyline did tie into Genosha.

And then comes back still without her mutant powers and proceeds to challenge Cyclops for the right to lead the X-Men! Assuming they explore that classic storyline, I am looking forward to seeing Storm using her hand-to-hand combat skills and develop her skills as a tactician. I love that Chris Claremont run in the comic books. And i am pleasantly surprised at the quality of the story craft and characterization in X-men ‘97. This show is 🔥!

There IS a character named X-Man (in the comics)... Nate Grey, a.k.a. X-Man, is a powerful mutant genetically engineered by Mister Sinister using the DNA of Cyclops and Jean Grey. He is basically an alternate universe Cable but without the techno-organic virus that gives Cable his iconic "metal arm" and from what I can remember without the virus he is stronger than Cable. edit- point of clarity, Scott doesn't shoot lasers, he fires pure concussive force which is why he was able to move around the battlefield with them and do that sick ass landing.... its why his ability is so destructive, and needs the visor to limit the amount he lets out

yeah, Cable has to use his telekinesis to keep the T-O Virus in check, so there's a limit to how much of his power he can use for other stuff. Though on the plus side, it does mean that Cable's body can't be transformed by anything else. In Cable (2024) #2, he was able to stop the Grey Gargoyle from turning him to stone because the T-O virus fought it off
