Yeah it's a good technology. But it has it's own disadvantage. It doesn't wipe off the finger marks on your phone screen. That's why I still prefer manual labor. It only takes a minute.

If they didn't actually perform the tests themselves they wouldn't be able to make the claim. Secondly, I said nothing about alcohol not working. I was responding to the notion of just setting a paper towel with water to wipe off any dirt or grime stuck on your phone. Yes, that visually will remove the grime off the surface, but does not serve as a true disinfecting of the device.

The only problem with UV light is that it degrades plastic (it's what makes clear cases yellow, coloured cases faded, ...) so that should be mentioned since most people use cases. I think it would be more suitable to purchase IP68 water resistant phone and wash your phone with tap water+soap whenever you get home. I am actually doing this successfully on Samsung galaxy s9+ for quiet some time. Just make sure that your phone is decently charged because you can't put it on a charger for few hours after that. In the end it gives a satisfying clean phone to use in home.
