@@tfodthogtmfof7644 There is a philosophy very close to that, called "Ubuntu", there are marvelous clips of Nelson Mandela explaining it. Challenging your employer about diversity and even turning getting this changed into a serious project takes some balls, Colin Kaepernick basically got fired for trying.

With ZERO competition btw. Mercedes is untouchable and so dominant the other teams can't even compete. And anytime Bottas gets even a whiff of a victory, the team pulls the whole "Valteri, its James" team orders on him. Anyone could win in that car and that's the truth. And before anyone slings the whole I'm being racist thing, i myself am a minority POC who is also an F1 fan. When the backmarkers put on the better show of overtaking and racing than the front, there's a problem with the sport. Hamilton is a good driver but a huge part of his dominance is because of the car. When he didnt have a good car, he was languishing barely cracking top 3 from 2009 to 2013. All of his wins were in the most dominant cars. In his first year with mercedes he was outside top 3 despite a solid but non dominant car. He didn't start dominating until Mercedes won the hybrid engine wars.

In the morning practice sessions". So, it was really one of the worst conditions for a race, which was quite funny as the track started to dry up before the end.. It wasn't the rain alone, it was the oil and bitumen that seeped out from the track every minute, combined with water.. It was also super smooth so even small bits of rain caused problems. Unfortunately because he lives in Monaco (for tax reasons) he is very unlikely to be knighted. Otherwise it would be a definite!
@tn_onyoutube84364 жыл бұрын
@@timbateman7202 it’s outrageous that this is a consideration for giving a knighthood. There are dozens, maybe hundreds of “Sirs” who now live abroad, many for tax purposes, many just because it suits them. Dozens of actors and musicians for example - Hopkins, Stewart, Day-Lewis, Starr, many others current and past - and also captains of industry, like James Ratcliffe and even James Dyson who technically still lives in England but has moved his company, and thus his taxes, to Singapore. Are we going to rescind their Kinghthoods for having the temerity to live abroad? As you allude, Hamilton should get a knighthood irrespective of where he lives or pays tax - though it would indeed be nice if he did that here in the UK.

He’s the first black driver to compete in f1, in his rookie year he beat a reigning 2 times world champion and got 9 consecutive podiums in his first 9 races, he has never had an unethical moment in his 14 year career he’s the cleanest racer of all time, precious champions did everything to win even crashed into their rivals but he never has had any moment like that, he has had the biggest competition in terms of driver he has faced, he has faced racism from the fans in his first year, he has never been appreciated as the greatest by the fans only coz he is black, people will always claim he is driving the best car but he hasn’t had the fastest car every year but he has never finished any season without atleast 1 win regardless how bad his car was and like his boss Toto Wolff once said that he won’t allow people who claim it’s only the car the reason he is winning and said that the drivers claiming that should analyse why they haven’t ended up in a Mercedes seat. He’s the goat he’s a racing god there has never been anyone better in 70 year history and there never will be but his biggest accomplishment is his actions against injustice, racism and betterment of environment of the world.

@AM 78 for starters: it’s not “may or may not have”, he actually did. It’s on camera. Secondly, the reason I brought it up is because the original comment said, “He hasn’t had an unethical moment in his career.” By lying to the stewards, he has had a moment. As I said earlier, he has moved on very well past that.

For the most part I've never really liked Hamilton -- personal opinion, but I found him a bit full of himself. But recently he's been getting more open and relaxed from what I've seen. And here he was especially fun to watch. And while before the Turkish race I found the idea amusing that he would clinch the title while finishing 6th or so, what he pulled off to win it undoubtedly shows that he's one of the greatests of F1.
@mctavish1994 жыл бұрын
All a matter of interpretation. Self-confidence or (perceived) arrogance. Have you watched his appearance on Top Gear with Clarkson, before he (LH) became really well known? Try it. He was unassuming then as he is now.
@zulubunsen90674 жыл бұрын
I've seen them and yeah, he's much more -- for the lack of a better word -- "humble" there than he was in the recent years, but to be fair those were before his winning streak with Mercedes. I'm more okay with him back then, but I can still see the spark of what I don't like about him. I also don't think I find him arrogant per se, just maybe a bit... I don't know, smug? But as you say, it's personal interpretation. He's not alone in this way though, Alonso just to name an example can be quite a diva. And as a contrast, back in his Red Bull years I disliked Vettel too, but when he appeared on Top Gear I was shocked how fun and likable he was.

This is easily the most candid interview featuring Lewis I've ever seen. This was a great watch, I was kinda skeptical clicking on it on the "recommended videos" part of the website, but seeing how it went I don't regret that decision. As for the guy himself, I think he's gonna stay in F1 for a couple of more seasons, at best. I think that he'll give a chance @ breaking Schumi's record next year & then competing into the new era of the sport in 2022, when the FiA bring down new regulations on the teams, especially the ones regarding the cars. It'd be interesting to see how he'd stack up in a vehicle that's gonna be much different than the one he's currently piloting. Hopefully he gets the chance to do other things, too. As an American motorsport fan I'd love for Hamilton for one time or two, to come over and do some stuff, whether that regards NASCAR, IMSA , or IndyCar. I think he has the talent to adjust to everything those racing leagues have to offer. Hopefully those wishes come true once he steps away from full-time commitments to Mercedes & F1.

@@paulosonfilhojr Except that in reality he was friends with James Hunt. Fact is they even shared an apartment early in their careers. And they had breakfast together at the hotel the morning before the 1976 Japanese GP. The rivalry between them was professional and not personal like in the movie. The movie doesn't mention how Hunt won the British GP but was later disqualified for having not completed the formation lap in his spare car. And most importantly, the movie doesn't show Hunt's and Lauda's duel at the 1975 Dutch GP which Hunt won while still driving for Hesketh. The movie shows nothing of Lauda's March (name of the team) years in 1971 and 1972 when he struggled and didn't score a single point. The real Lauda knew he was without a drive for 1973, had a huge loan and no prospect of another job but as an accountant and said that he briefly considered suicide. Lucky for him BRM were interested in his money for 1973. More lucky for him was that the 1973 Ferrari was so hopeless (not a single podium all year) Enzo Ferrari fumed and fired pretty much the entire team from the engineers and team principal to the drivers. With no prospect of landing any top drivers like Emerson Fittipaldi, Ronnie Peterson and Jackie Stewart, Enzo simply took back his old driver Clay Regazzoni who had raced for Ferrari in 1970-1972. He asked Regazzoni whether this "young Austrian" was any good and got the reply that:"He may not be fast straight out of the box but he's a quick learner and works hard." And no, Lauda never made the BRM go 2-3 seconds faster just by telling the engineers what to change on the car.
