The brush and archaeologist stuff was revealed back then and took 3 years to actually be implemented...Also yeah, this one can kinda (but not entirely, you'll see) be disregarded as Creepers existed before the first builders as seen in Minecraft Legends, so they could not have been created by the race...however, that doesn't mean they couldn't still be constructed beings....You'll have to come to your own conclusions on that one throughout the next few theories and their plot points.
