Regarding the mod tap conflict with the spacebar, Wooting has informed me that they will be improving that specific use case!

Great review! I’ve been looking for a productivity review, most people only cover gaming. Thanks so much I’m in college for software development and this is exactly what I needed.

I was sure I was going to hate the %60 form factor until I finally got to try it and feel it in my own hands. Now I own the 60HE+ and it's nice to have for gaming, but it surprisingly feels more productive for work as I get used to the function layers. Mod tap and Toggle are pretty awesome features, but your key mappings are very well thought out so I'm going to try switching to those. I didn't expect the software to be this powerful, you can program basically anything.

great video, thank you! i really like the way you setup the caps lock key, i used to "just" use it as a way to call fn, but using it as esc with a short press is actually perfect. also the dual binding of your number keys are something i wanna try. and the way you setup your rgb is awesome, i need to check that out. some additions: - try the gateron jade/wuque studio dash (they are the same afaik) switches, i feel like they improve the whole setup a lot! also, its worth checking out the wooting (alumaze) or tofu (redux) metal cases for the 60he imho. - im not a hardcore vim user, but Id like to be and thats why I try and get some inspiration from the vim key layout (eg hjkl instead of ijkl) and i kinda like it.. its not for everyone but its a neat way to train yourself to use the basic vim layout (and having esc on capslock is a great addition to this!) - also, i use arch btw (nah, i dont, i use windows, but i felt a bit dirty writing this comment :) )

To be fair to Styko (the CS pro), he was playing for a team who are sponsored by steelseries, so he probably hasn't spent a lot of time with the wooting since it's a direct competitor to the apex pro.

Finally a video that show off this keyboard to the fullest, the fact you even talk about the arrow keys and show how to restore them is something i appreciate a lot I've had my eyes on this keyboard since a while but with this video it is clear that it's a multitask keyboard compared to the apex pro wich is bloated like crazy and complicated to use (and the kb isn't even modable) The wooting is a clear choice for me who plays a lot but do desktop stuff Thank you for this great video!

That's exactly the sentiment I wanted to give in this video is that the 60% layout can be very intimidating for people who are unaware of programming capabilities

I was concerned at first with the lack of keys on this 60% board but after looking at the amazing software that Wooting has and seeing how much customizability/remapping it offers, I no longer have these concerns. Thank you for this in-depth review.

A fun fact is that Wooting's first keyboard was a TKL layout called the Wooting One, but they discontinued it for some reason. You can still find them on the used market, but they don't have all the features the new Wooting models have. I recently caved in and bought the 60HE and will probably just buy a Stream Deck for the extra shortcuts, but I would've thrown my money in so much earlier if they kept making and updating the TKL model.
@Icancontrolit2 ай бұрын
wooting is making a tkl keyboard rn it's called the 80he and they are taking pre orders already. they also do a lot of production updates on their KZbin.

@Ice_21922 ай бұрын
You actually went through all the features and demonstrated them. Most people who review this only do the sound test and just breeze through the app. I’m one of the founders who pre ordered the 80he and gonna use the extra keycaps on a custom 60he. Since then I’ve been watching countless videos of what people think about the 60 and you are the only one who took the time and went through the app features.
@planet_b1ue4 ай бұрын
Your genius with this. I don't even have a 60% and I switched my caps lock bind to the modifier key and then added a whole bunch of macros. Great video! For me, I didn't like the idea of holding down or tapping a button to change it's function, so I didn't use that. But, I did change my right shift to backspace, changed my caplocks-backspace to be delete, and changed my capslock-` to be esc. Other than that I followed your recommendations!

Let me get this straight, all the key customisations you mentioned, can't I do it with a regular keyboard that supports QMK/ZMK, etc? Do I need a Hall effect keyboard for that? I don't play games.

@@JSyntax thank you! Yes it has.gone okay so far, the shortcuts are easy enough, though getting my hands in the right spots are harder and I frequently miss, though it's gotten better already, so I just need to get used to it, don't help my caps don't have letters on em 🤣 but I'll get through I have almost gotten up to same type speed as I used to, if I have my hands in the right spot to begin with 😅
