I watched a couple mr. Beast videos years ago, and he looked so fake to me. "OH, look, here's a homeless man. Let's give him some food and earn $100k from a vid!" Isn't charitable. It's standard business practice to promote a brand. He isn't doing it out of goodwill. He's doing it to make money. Just like any other business. And the worst part? If you said this a year ago, you'd be verbally massacred by a horde of kids who are deitifying mr. beast.

The thing that was always obvious about MrBeast was if it looks to good to be true, then it probably is. The first question I had about him was "How does the financing of these "donations" actually work?" Once you follow the money a little bit you see clearly a company engaged in advertorial content disguised as entertainment for children, operating in a relatively unregulated (or at least seemingly not policed) space, with a structure and processes making it wide open for abuses to take place. I'm not at all surprised by the allegations currently being made.
@ironaston9858Ай бұрын
The only video I watched of him was the 100k ice cream whatever. It stood out to me how when the friends offered him some, he was all like "no, you enjoy." There’s a homeless guy not far from where I live and most of the time I really can’t afford to give him anything and we see enough of each other for instant recognition. @typhus19652 ай бұрын
@brandonbillings5007 Not going to defend Chris as what he did was wrong. But Jimmy did state that he didn't completely know about all of that stuff, and he did let Chris go. As for Delaware, we don't know exactly what happened when he was 16. All we know is he took a plea deal to be a RSO in the 4th degree. Jake the Viking his brother in law said he was innocent. Which could be true. I know that sometimes taking a plea deal is better than going to court especially when you can't hire a lawyer due to lack of fund. My brother got busted for selling pot once. He was given a choice by his free lawyer he can take a plea deal which would be 6 months house arrest or he can try and fight it in court. He could have won since when he was busted he did have pot on him and it was someone else ratting him out that was also busted for selling pot. Which was the guy my brother bought off of. Because he couldn't afford a proper lawyer he took the plea deal as, if he was convicted he would be facing prison time instead of house arrest. What everyone is doing is jumping on the hate wagon because Jimmy is the biggest KZbinr and making videos on it for views. Legal Eagle made a video about the illegal lotteries stating that they may not be illegal. However, he does state that DogPack404 can be charged for disparaging comments he made.

A few years ago when I was complaining that the "trending" page of KZbin was just full of scammers and prank channels I got numerous people saying "Don't lump Mr Beast into the rest of them, he's good, he gives lots of charity money away." So it's not surprising AT ALL for me to see stuff like this come out on him. Using charity as a smokescreen is basically the #1 tactic used by anyone rich enough to gain massive appeal from the masses. If it isn't a tax write-off or quid-pro-quo, it's still scummy because you KNOW you're only filming it to make yourself look better than you are. To paraphrase a book many charitable people take inspiration from - "Don't give as the Pharisees do, for they love to give offerings in order to be seen by men. I’m shocked that people never saw any controversy like this coming. MrBeast isn’t a person, it’s a brand/corporation ran by a guy since he was barely 20. It’s completely open to incidents such as abuse and other illegal activities as long as money is involved, and the CEO is totally able to hide or deny responsibility for any of it. Just like any other corporation. Also, anyone who thought the contestants were legit subscribers need a psych evaluation.
