I've lived in and around Corbin most of my almost 67 years and got to meet the Colonel when I was 8 or 9. On election day. I'm with my grandma and look up and who's coming down the sidewalk but the Colonel. White suit, cane and all. We shook hands and talk for a few and we went on our way. Quite the thrill for a kid. I used to know a lot of old timers who were friends with him as my grandma was. A great memory. God bless.

There will never be a more iconic character in the food industry than Col. Sanders. The food is not what it used to be but even the best is not immune to change. Thanks for an awesome video Coyotes. I had always heard that Coyotes craved chicken.
@IgnitedCoyote2 жыл бұрын
Coyotes do love chicken! You're right, the quality ain't what it used to be but I think they do a better job at this one than most others, I've been told the family that owns this franchise works hard to keep the quality up. Thanks for watching Terry!

As I understand it, Colonel Sanders was a character and a half...I haven't been to Kentucky Fried Chicken in forever. They used to sell fried chicken livers, and my Dad brought them home for the cat....so everyone in the house got KFC when he brought chicken home. Great video!

He sure was, we had an old guy who worked for him as a young man tell us that if the gravy wasn't right he would turne the whole thing over and tell them to do it right this time! Thanks for watching Scott!

How fun to stumble upon this video! My dad was born in Corbin and the family legend says that my grandpa lent Col. Sanders some money to help him open the cafe. Our family lives in Mn so we haven’t been to the cafe but we joke about how it is too bad he didn’t get a share of what it became! 😂

Great video Coyote's! I haven't ate there since 1986! I'm long overdue a trip back up there to eat! I used to stop in there and eat once a week back when I had a truck route up that way, haven't ate there since but I always loved it back then! Great video! Thanks for sharing!

The family that owns this franchise done a great job with the restoration I hope they plan on doing something with his house and opening it up soon. It may be my imagination but it does seem like the chicken there is a little closer than what I remember as a child at KFC. Thanks for watching Mitch!

Good video!The chicken is still good. But not as good as it used to be!Haven't ate it there, but it looked good. The biscuits have change the most. Thank you both!
@IgnitedCoyote2 жыл бұрын
You're right about the biscuits! They taste a awful lot like those frozen biscuits from a grocery store that come in a bag. The Colonel would have a fit if he was still around.

@@IgnitedCoyote I live in Corbin and been a year since I ate there. It was so bad I had thrown it away. Hard and old and un eatable ( it was busy). So hopefully the food is better since the lobby open.

The quality has went down at a lot of KFCs. I think it's the yum corporation which owns KFC along with Taco Bell and Pizza Hut cutting financial corners. I think the family who owns this franchise and who were pretty much solely responsible for its restoration, try to keep the quality above average. Thanks for watching Jerry!

The Chicken that use to be great was cooked in a pressure cooker. The new KFC is not cooked like that and not nearly as good
