I’m so so sorry! 💔 I grew up in a DV home and it’s nothing to make light of. It’s so weird how this movie is being promoted like it’s a rom-com. I don’t know what’s going on, but I’ve been supporting Justin Baldoni for awhile. he’s such an advocate for women and social justice. His podcast, TED Talks, etc. are so inspirational… he’s also been very respectful about this DV topic and continues to promote resources and nonprofits… idk it’s just hard to see him as a shitty person but who knows 🤷🏻♀️😭
@jessicaponce61604 ай бұрын
I've followed him for years, and he has made amazing inspirational movies. And is always respectful and down to earth. He bought the rights to make movies for both books, it's his thing, not Blake's. I heard somewhere that the author loves Blake and that's why she was hired to play Lily. I'm sure it wasn't Justin's idea. Blake tried to push him out and take over because she had connections through her Ryan. If the 2nd movie doesn't get made we can all blame Blake for that. 😢

Manny! I had a chalazion on my eyelid for 2 years solid. I would use eye masks that you heat in the microwave but it only went away when I started buying/using special cleansing wipes specifically for eyes. There was no hiding it with makeup at the time either, it was rather big 😂 not had one since using these wipes thankfully! It's been a few years now for context. Make sure to keep your eyes hydrated/lubricated aswell! I have blepharitis (inflammation) and there is a connection between the two. Eye drops for dry eyes, and the eye wipes. Happy healing!

Yeah no there is nothing funny about DV what so ever… I’ve seen interviews with Justin and he takes this issue VERY seriously… which I think is why he wanted to direct this film. It does seem like the rest of the cast hasn’t been taking this film in the same context…. It’s been labeled as a Rom-Com???? If anyone has read this book, it’s the complete opposite of a Rom-Com…. So that’s why the conflict is happening I think.. IMO.

It’s just part of the aging process. I was so against wearing readers and I was the last one of my friends to pull them out. Manny and Laura, I just wanted you to know that I can relate to what you went thru when back then you were cancelled. Having your world put up side down and what you work for ripped out your feet... Short story: 2 years ago I was declared with Bipolar and it cause crazy anxiety. My doctor put my on disability cause I can't work no more so I lost my job, the job I went back to school for at 30 years old and work hard. Then I lost my house(the house I bought when I was only 19 and work my ass off for 15 years) , cause I went from a 6k$ monthly salary, to disability monthly of 950$ so I did bankruptcy. And I lost my 17 years long relationship, yeah it was to much for my boyfriend. So this was my "cancelation" Took me down for almost 2 years and then life put Laura lee on my path (on my screen) and since I started watching your vlogs and videos, you gave me hope and showed me I can take back the control on my life. I'm very grateful for all I learned thru you Laura lee and I'm sure if one day you decide to write a book it would help so many people. So again thks Laura lee 💫 💫 💫

In my opinion Blake lively wanted this to be a women’s empowerment movie and wanted it to be her “Oscar moment” so she kept trying to change the writing so it could be a movie about friendship and women’s empowerment. She wanted the movie to kind of be lighter and romantic. This movie is about domestic violence… yes she leaves in the end. But the whole movie is about how hard it is to leave and how quickly you can get sucked back into it. How you can have empathy and love for this person who is hurting you because you know their story, and the person they are “trying to be.” It is heavy, and traumatic. Justin said in an interview that he knew from The beginning that he had to make Ryle charming and lovable because then it speaks to just how hard it was for Lily to leave. In the book you fall in love with a Ryle and through out the book you find yourself feeling empathy for him because of his past. But you also have this deep feeling of disappointment and resentment for him also because he keeps being abusive. And I don’t think Blake wanted to play a women who keeps getting pulled back in. Also side note… I’m not one to cheer on a man at all😂 but! Justin has a podcast where he talks about men’s mental health and brings on women to talk about postpartum and the loneliness of motherhood. He brought on Alok who is nonbinary and let them talk about their experience as a nonbinary person in society. And since this has came out I have not heard one story of Justin being even the slightest bit of offensive or mean. Quite the opposite actually!

Manny- so basically what you were calling a stye was really like an undereye pimple, I wonder if there are like antibiotic eyedrops to help balance the ph of whats being produced/getting irritated, as opposed to having to go on antibiotics internally affecting your whole body? It’s a good thing you don’t drink because the 1st thing I thought of was like every time you are on antibiotics, you can’t drink or drinking affects the ability of the antibiotics to work, but since you don’t drink, you’re good. Also possibly the ph levels in the water where you live could be affecting/stimulating the glands when you’re doing something as necessary as washing your face, making a switch like a filter on your bathroom fawcet or washing your face w/spring water to help things be more pure or if it’s more like a bi-monthly stress cycle your body is going through that you could like journal, keep track to do some herbal remedies to anticipate your flareups, like say warm or cool compresses (whichever might be better) w/washcloths on your eyes that have an herbal scent that can help reduce the inflamation? Sorry for ramble on here but these kinds of things get my geeky brain going to resolve & help find solutions for people, I’m 41yrs in the beauty business, so I empathize w/you & Laura w/her rash, when she spoke of all she was doing w/that but it seems like shes been able to find some remedies for control of that because it’s easier on the outside of the face than inside an eye, it’s hard to be in this business when our face cards are a huge part of our business! 😊🍿
