First off... wonderful concept! As to a suggestion, Satie's _Trois Gymnopedies_ or --- even better --- his five _Nocturnes._ *Aldo Ciccolini's* performances of those sound best to me.

I recently started dating this girl, we’ve been together a couple weeks over a month now. She plays piano and one day she started playing mine when she was staying over. I didn’t know what the song was but it was beautiful, and I was just more mesmerised by her, effortlessly playing this song. A couple days go by and I see this video pop up on my recommended. ‘Why not, I’m tired of the other white noise I use anyway.’ I chuck it on and... it’s the same song she was playing. I listen to this every night now when she’s not here, and imagine she’s playing this just for me in our own secluded rainy heaven Edit: Some people have been asking for updates and stuff, as of now we’re nearing our three month anniversary and I’m really happy with her. She lights up my world like you couldn’t imagine and that’s when she isn’t even trying! Thank you all for your kind words positivity, it’s made me very grateful❤️

Imagine this: You’re living in an apartment with your sibling during college. It’s about 5:00 PM and your sibling is playing piano. You’re finished with work and didn’t get a chance to relax in bed until now. Work had to be done in the living room since the WiFi connection was best there. Your dog, cat, or other beloved pet is in the kitchen, next to the heater. Or perhaps on the couch, twitching its ears at the sound of music. You lay in bed, door nearly closed. The golden line shines through, and the balcony’s doors are open. The smell of rain floods the room and the clouds put a blue filter on your eyes. You dusted all your furniture and counter tops the day before, so you exhale deeply knowing your room is clean. Socks on, blanket on up to your stomach. The rain nearly touches the carpet, but is stopped and creates a line dividing the wet and dry. It’s a Friday evening, and all things are well. Thank you all for reading this! I hope your day is incredible and you all stay safe and healthy :)

But you’re outside there, in the rain, on your own... You look on your watch, it is 12:00 AM already. You just remember that it’s new year’s eve.. Your friend finishes playing the piano and walks over to the balcony to sit next to you. He asks if he can have a cigarette as well. You hand over a cigarette and the lighter. You spend the rest of the night with your friend and end up having a great time together. Sorry, I just had to write a pov to this: You lie in bed, your mind wandering from topic to topic. It's past midnight but you just can't get this nasty feeling off of your chest. 'What is this feeling?' And 'Why do I have to feel this?' Those were the questions that lingered in your head. You sigh, letting out a shaky breath before sitting upright in bed and looking around your room. Your eyes glide along all of the familiar objects. You see your tall, white closet. Oh, and there's the mirror. That's the desk and the chair. You continue to look around, until your eyes land on a photo of you, your mother, father and brother, proudly looking at the camera. "Ah, I remember this... This was when we were at my brother's piano competition. He had just won second place if I remember correctly." You quietly mumble to yourself as you stand up and walk over to the old photo. You were wearing a white shirt with a skirt/sweatpants, quite the outfit if I do say so myself. Your brother was wearing a suit, a black one to be exact. He looked perfect in this photo. His teeth were pearly white, his hair was combed backwards, his smile lit up the whole photo. "I wish he were still here.." You place the photo down and sit down in your desk chair. You pull out your checkered sketchbook and start drawing anything that came to mind. A tap was heard on your window, then another one, followed by another. You look up and see wet beads landing on your bedroom window. It's raining. And if by magic, your thoughts go back to the photo. You slowly spin your chair around and stare at the photo, slowly getting engulfed by it. The picture was taking you back, back to the concert, back to when your brother was still alive. You closed your eyes as you felt everything around you changing. It took a while, maybe a minute or two, but that's when you felt someone slightly nudging you in the side. Your eyes shot open just to be met by your mother sitting by your side. "Psst, it's starting!" She said, and as if on queue, you hear a beautiful melody. You look at the direction from where the sound was coming from and see him. Your brother was on the podium, wearing the same black suit as in the photo. He was playing the piano. You felt how tears slowly started to form in your eyes as you watched his hands glide around the piano like it was the easiest thing in the world. How carefree he looked. If he had just known, if he had just known that there was something wrong with his car he wouldn't have died. You wanted to scream, you wanted to yell, you wanted to run over to him and hug him tightly and never let go. You wished day after day that his death was just a bad dream and that you'd wake up any moment. But you didn't. You watch as he peeks over to you and softly smiles. Oh how much you had missed that familiar smile. The same smile that would greet you every time he came back from school, the same smile that would be glued onto his face when he comforted you, the same smile that made you feel complete. That smile was now gone, it was lost. You believed you would never see that smile ever again, and yet here you were, sitting in a crowd, looking at your brother as he carelessly played the piano. The sad but charming tune filled your ears. It didn't help with your tears. There were small but visible crystal-like droplets running down from your eyes, over your cheeks and down your neck. Your mom looked over to you and noticed you crying. "It's okay to cry, it's a very alluring melody." She whispered, rubbing your back to try and calm you down. You just look at her and smile, lightly nodding your head. You closed your eyes and listen to the calm piece. Sadly, the song finished before you knew it and you open your eyes. But you weren't sitting in the crowd anymore. You weren't sitting in your bedroom either. You were sitting in the 'practice room'. That's what your father calls it. It's the room where your brother used to sit down to practice the piano. You looked down at the gracious instrument, and that's when a slight 'wow' was heard from behind you. Your head snapped backwards, and in the door opening were your both your parents. "That was amazing, sweetheart. you played it just like your brother." And for a fraction of a second, you saw a glimpse of a white silhouette. It said: "..Yeah, you played it just like me."

After a long evening shift at work, I finally arrive home. I shrug off my rain jacket, hang up my keys, and flop onto the couch. My eyes lazily follow the droplets of rain that patter against my window. Suddenly, I notice the faint beginnings of a piano piece I've heard many times. My neighbor practices his piano quite frequently, and this song appears to be one of his favorites. I sit in silence and let the melody drift through the air, above even the moderate shower outside. As the music crescendos, although I have never seen him play, I can perfectly imagine him sitting at the piano, hands poised gracefully, fingers deftly scaling the keys. _He's gotten better at that part._ I can still remember when he would trip over the faster bits, some weeks or so ago. Some days he would play through those measures again, patiently working through the rhythms, and other days he would pound the keys in frustration. No trip-ups today, though. His playing is as flawless as though it was a recording. My eyes begin to close, as the repetitive patter of the rain and the flowing melodies of the Debussy piece weave together, making me feel more relaxed. A small, content smile graces my face as my head lists to the side and I let the harmonies wash over me. _It sounds nice._ I don't know anything about him; we've never spoken, only ever passed each other in the hall on the way to our respective rooms, but somehow, through his playing, I feel as though I've known him for a long, long time. As though we are old friends. Even as the piece nears its end, I can still see him clearly in my mind: relaxed, and yet completely invested in what he's playing, so caught up in it that he can't notice anything else. _Thank you for playing._ I know he isn't doing it for me, and yet I still want to thank him for his beautiful gift. After a time, I hear the music begin to fade as I drift off into the world of dreams. Just wanted to write something for this. Have a lovely day/evening/night, and if you're going to sleep, pleasant dreams :)

Pov: It’s been a long day, but you’re finally home. With all this COVID, the job is harder than ever before. You’ve had some rough weeks and months, but nothing compares to this. You’re absolutely exhausted. You step out of the car, you get a little frustrated because your nice suit is now wet: it’s raining. You enter the house and find your girlfriend playing this on the living room piano. You stand in the dooropening just to listen. You close your eyes as the music guides you through dreamland. Suddenly, the music stops. You open your eyes, as to see her beautiful, sparkling eyes. You smile and clap, she blushes and smiles a shy little smile. And that little shy smile gave you the energy for cooking an amazing dinner with just the two of you in candle light. The rain is pouring outside, you turn on the radio and the exact same song is playing. You take her by the hand. You dance for a little while, you hug, you kiss, and you realize that she’s the one. You pull out the little box you’ve been hanging on to for a while, you get on one knee and ask her to marry you. She says yes. All your worries faded away as you put on the ring on her left hand and shushed her because she was crying from happiness. You wake up, drenched in sweat. You feel the other side of the bed, it’s empty. You get scared for a second, but then she walks in, holding your precious little boy, humming Clair de Lune to calm him doen. You sit up straight and look her in the eyes. Those eyes, and beautiful smile: it hasn’t changed. She comes sitting next to you on the bed. She asked if you had a nightmare. You say you don’t remember. She gives you your little boy, and proceeds to take a seat behind the keyboard. She turns it on. And as soon as you hear the first notes to this familiar song, you drift away. She says: ‘our little boy takes after you I see, you both calm down hearing this’. And as you open your eyes, to the masterful playing of your now wife, you look at your little boy and say: ‘yes. Yes he does’.

Really thought this was going to end with a twist death, something like this: You close your eyes for a moment, stroking your son's hair and listening to the delicate song echoing through the room. Looking back in the direction of the keyboard, you see her again, sitting and smiling at you, tears in her eyes. Before you could say anything, she dissapeared, slipped through your fingers again far too soon. All those years you spent together, all that time you loved eachother, so quickly destroyed in the blink of an eye. You rubbed your wedding ring with your thumb, standing up to put your son back to bed, and decided to keep the Clair de Lune recording playing tonight, so she could be here too.

You begin to walk towards the large windowsill in the back of the ballroom and lay your head against the window watching the moon and closing your eyes for the last time as the music fades away and you’re left sleeping peacefully. :)

The way it sounds, especially with headphones it sounds like a song stuck in your head you can hear but it’s so faint you can’t exactly remember the song. It sounds like inner monologue on nights were it’s difficult to sleep. If you were using this as you studied it’s the perfect blend of calm but not distracting because of how faint it is. I love it!

If anyone ever tells you music cannot impact your life they’re lying, this song more than any other may have cemented in my life, where I want to go and why life itself is important. It simply conveys something beyond words. It’s amazing in the peaceful piano notes there’s a yearning for a long gone past and a wish for the coming future. This song made me friends and memories it’s impacted me in such a way I could never hope to explain it all but none the less it matters so much in my life and just the opening notes can bring me to tears. Music is so much more than notes and sounds it’s the feeling it invokes in the listener the story it tells and the impact it leaves. Thank you to those who made this it certainly made my day I’ll be back to listen many times. If you made it here thanks for reading, I hope that you enjoyed it, it got longer than I anticipated.

It's early morning at the malfoy manor, you wake up to an empty bed, so you go out to search for the only man you trust to sleep besides. As you walk through the elegant yet tranquil mansion as the rain falls heavily outside, it seems almost ghostly in the light of dawn, you hear a beautiful and almost eerie piano playing in a distant room. You walk through the doors of the grand ball room to see him shining in the light of the new day. He looks almost angelic as he sits there, his fingers moving effortlessly across the keys of the beautiful instrument. He doesn't notice you come in, but you don't want to interrupt this moment, hoping you can stay in this peace forever, you lean against the wall and just listen.

"No you don't understand, mother! That is literally all I want for my birthday." You cried out to your mom, who was sitting next to the fire. "Honey, for God's sakes why do you "need" a piano. I just don't understand why. Are they really that interesting to you." Your mother asks. "Yes . . that piano would mean a lot more to me than you think . . ever since dad died . . I've been wanting one ever since." "That is ridiculous. I am not getting you that piano and that is final." Your eyes start to tear up as you walk away from her, trembling hands and all. "I just want to be like dad . . I just want to make him proud . . that's all I want." You mumble to yourself as tears roll down your soft redden cheeks. You eventually fall asleep, as the tears soaked into your skin. You then wake up in a room, to which was quite gloomy. It was rainy and dark, but dim and warm on the inside. You left the room and began to make your way down the long dimmed hallway. After awhile of walking down the hallway, the sound of a grand piano became audible. And every step you took, it got louder. It then sounded as if it was coming from right next to you, you turned the cold silver knob and pushed the large timeworn door open, to which then you saw a man, sitting upon the piano seat, playing what sounded like your favorite song in the whole world. You then begin to slowly approach the man, as the old wooden floors creak and whimper. The man then turns around to see you standing there, listening to the beautiful tune, eyes closed and all. You open your eyes to the see the man smiling at you. He nods his head, signaling you to take a seat with him and continue this wonderful melody. You then obey, sitting next to him on the seat. Both of you begin playing. You played for what seemed like hours, but you were enjoying every bit of it. After what seemed like an hour or so, you stared into his beautiful hazel eyes, wishing this moment could last forever, but you know it wouldn't, that was the worst part of all. "Thank you for playing with me one last time. I'll see you soon enough. I will always love you, baby girl. I'll be here waiting for you. Piano or not, you will always be my Melody." The man exclaims as you begin to get sleepy. It was only before you drifted away, that you finally knew who that was, you were playing with.

Personally imagining this: You are in the home you have crafted for yourself in your dreams, placed on a ridge that backs up to the forest green valleys of the Swiss alps. You and your partner, both in your mid 40's and entertaining successful careers (his being a professional musician), are hosting a wine night with a few of our closest friends we have known over the years. Overwhelmed by the commotion that all of these beautiful people have subsequently brought, you go up to the upper balcony looking over the expanse of spruces filling the valley below. Although it's raining and dusk has dawned on us hours ago, the doors have been propped open on the lower balcony in order to cool everyone's flushed, exuberant faces from the copious amounts of wine consumed by everyone. The excited chatter you hoped to distance yourself from floats up to your place on the railing, barely giving you room to think. Suddenly the sound of all the intermingling voices dies down as everyone begins to listen intently to the impromptu performance on the grand piano downstairs. Embracing the elegant miasmas that flutter up from the door below you, the oh-so-familiar dripping tone of the piano touching your soul as it has done for years, you hear the graceful personification of the emotional journey of the one you hold most dear to you. Although over-exaggerated (as musicians always do with their music), your mind instinctively picks up all of the landmark points of his journey, waiting in anticipation for what you know will happen next. Recognizing when your voice is introduced into his performance, you can't help but look back and be grateful for the journey your life has taken as you look over the soaked spruces below. Taking one last sip of your, now rain-soaked, glass of rosé, you make your way downstairs to join your awe-filled guests in the living room. That idealized narrative is what I escape to when I hear this song. Although it will likely not come to fruition, or although it will come into fruition in a vastly different way, I like to escape to this possible version of my life: one where I'm overwhelmingly content.

this song brings me to a place in my mind that i can only begin to describe-its full of longing but also raw love and vulnerability and comfort. I see my hands playing this melody on an old grand piano with cracks in it in an empty, dimly lit room that smells like rain and rose petals. the rest of the world exists completely apart from this secret garden in my mind.

I am so thankful for the people that came into my life and helped me with my fears. They’ve helped me with my troubles. Told me everything was gonna be alright. which everything did but I just. Couldn’t feel anything. Nothing like, happiness, affection, comfort. Until this one person came into my life and switched everything. I loved them. But I have to hide my feelings. because it would be very frustrating and troublesome to tell them my feelings. I’d rather lose my feelings instead of telling them. My heart breaks everytime I see them with another person. But I have to have it like that. No other choice or path. I tried telling them in the past multiple times. I cant seem to get their attention or love. They ignore me everytime I try to talk to them nowadays.. I tried my hardest, pushed myself to the limit, sacrificed everything, my heart. Feelings. I am an introvert I feel more and more scared that I talk too much. most of my friends talk. But I am that one who just doesn’t care. I try to talk less but it’s hard.

a small scenario for myself :) your in the car looking through the window watching the rain droplets race each other. the sky is cloudy but you're still able to see the downtown LA lights as you're driving home after a nice day with family at little tokyo. every single one of those bright lights radiating from each of the buildings rooms means something special to you. you're slowly falling asleep as you have your earbuds in listening to one of your favorite piano pieces, clair de lune. the time reminds you of back to when you were younger, and when your life wasn't filled with worries, and just pure happiness. you remember the times you smiled and walked around not caring about what anyone other than you thought of yourself. all you can think of is how much you miss it as the sight in front of you is slowly triggering memories of nostalgia into your brain. you feel the thoughts envelop you in a strange yet comforting feeling as your younger selve's reality starts to become yours. all you can think of is your special childhood memories and how comforting and warm you felt as the heater was on high and your parents' coats were layered on top of you.

this song brings me comfort in a way that people can’t, music in general does. Yes, the feeling of someone’s arms wrapped around me with their heartbeat to my ear is the best feeling ever. but this is the next best thing plus i know that it’s not going anywhere anytime soon. that’s the beauty of it. life can be so fucked up and everything can be going terribly but even people can’t help that because no matter what everyone leaves eventually and it doesn’t get any more easier every time it happens. it’s still painful in one of the worst ways and you end up hurt and alone. however when you’re by yourself you can only hurt yourself, i call that comfort.

i can’t recall nor retain hardly any memories from my childhood or even my past; only blurry captures of a couple moments skewed in time and in mind. these notions became what i can solely describe as raw emotions. at the very most, they are but generalizations of what once was: fresh, rustic mornings with cool damp air and dewdrops coating the grass, the laughter and freedom that filled the air with the friends that had been left behind, the pleasure i felt whenever i accomplished any feat when comparison and expectations hadn’t burdened me. looking back on these now, hopeless and at a severe breaking point, the only regret i’ll ever have is not being able to truly embrace these fractures in my memory, to commemorate them for what they truly are in the moment. what i wouldn’t give to just simply go back. appreciate the past before it all slowly and surely disintegrates and becomes tucked away in a dusty, disheveled corner of my memory unbeknownst to me. savor every moment with everybody i’ve met before they move on and find others who would make them feel just as adored as i had. living blindly in a blur, not knowing who i am, only knowing who i’m supposed to be, what i could be, who i should be. all i know is that these moments had made me feel bliss, even though i may never be able to know exactly what had caused it. i miss everything before this point, before ruin had consumed me until each moment had gone. i want to go back to my old life again, then maybe, just maybe, i’ll reach happiness once again, whether i find it or it finds me.

POV: You get into a fight with your significant other about finances, arguing over their late career change to become a pianist, which you think they are very mediocre at. You head to bed irritated. They stay in the living room practicing their skills. You have a dream while you sleep alone: you see your partner and you, much older but much happier. You are still in that same small house that you have been wanting to move out of for years- however in the dream you have made this small house a place of joy and memories. In the dream your significant other is playing the piano perfectly- all those hours of practicing paid off. Your older self stands there admired by the melody. You wake up in the night to rain and the same tune that you heard in your dream. Did your partner get better in a few hours? Was it a change in perspective of what truly matters? You get out of bed and head to the living room to be like the happier version of you from that dream.

I sit here and i cry because I don't want to grow up so i spend my childhood listen to this stuff so when i think about it when I'm older I will say " yeah those times were magic" and "even though those times were rough i miss them more than ever" because one thing Unus Annus taught me is that if you feel that sad when something is gone then that thing must have been amazing!
