"It's rewarding": Meals on Wheels volunteers encourage others to join

Those looking for something to do this summer can volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
Meals on Wheels Metro Tulsa is looking for more meal delivery drivers and held a volunteer fair on June 25. It's similar to a job fair, except it’s aimed at recruiting volunteers.
A couple of those volunteers talked to 2 News before they went out the door to deliver some meals and told us why they joined.

I spent eight years in an faith-based inner-city ministry... This ministry provided food clothing and shelter to homeless men, women and children. Based in Tampa Florida initially, Deeper Life, ministered to people that came from all over the United States and world. Broken lives being made whole ..if they let themselves. Meals on Wheels is a good program, in the right hands. When I was recovering from knee surgery, I contemplated using this service. Here in Tulsa. However, with my dietary restrictions, it would have just complicated things for them and myself. I am glad it's there for those who are shut-ins and who are unable to cook for themselves. I pray good success for volunteers. I wouldn't mind helping deliver...
