This was a powerful performance from Ms. Alyson Williams. And it is special on many levels. 1. She is a New York native. 2. She's at the Legendary Apollo Theatre. 3. She was able to deliver her song in the manner in which she felt was worthy of the Apollo audience. And 4th, Mama Alyson hit it out of the park.

I remember watching this when it aired and being just in awe. Alyson was so underrated back then. Right along with Vesta Williams, Regina Belle, and Angela Winbush, they all were my favorite female divas of the 80's and 90's. Fast-forward to 2024, I believe I can count the number of truly talented singers on one hand. It just seems music executives/companies are out to make a quick dollar off of anything these days whether you can carry a tune or not.
