@smgri how do you say it's not simple and explain it correctly in less than 20 words? You just killed your point. It actually is simple. There are more people in America who want a white man President than a black woman. Don't say it's not simple, then explain how it's simple. It's just simple. 150 years after the Civil War, and more people in America will vote for a white dude instead of a black chick. Don't confuse the word "simple" with "smart". The result is very sadly simple, but not smart.

You have no idea how much punishment the average Joe in this country has taken in the last four years. Everything from food to housing is out of control all while our tax burden increases and we watch billions piped off to a war we have no interest in. Mix in that the democrats message has essentially been "trump voters are either morons or fascists" instead of asking why half the country voted for him 2016 and a loss was all but guaranteed. And yeah, my portfolio will hopefully feel the "full force" of trumps policies again and I can actually start thinking about retirement instead of treading water.

If only we could all be as smart as you! Then we wouldn't have fallen for the lies, right? It is tragic that you think that is the reason Trump won. There were no lies about the economy. The economy is awful. Inflation has robbed people of their saved wealth, housing prices are inflated beyond reach for the normal person, and even if you get close then a corporation swoops in at the last second and pays 50K more for the house with plans to rent it. On and on, the economy is a trainwreck.

Even though the reality is, trump made no significantly favorable policies. He did make adversely significant policy that has yet to be realized, but when it is, it will be horrible. The economy was already on its favorable trajectory with plenty of momentum before his first term. All he had to do was leave it alone but he just had to mess with it, adding 2 trillion to the deficit per each year of his term, thanks to his tax breaks given to the richest, while ramping up spending. So voting for trump because of the economy makes zero sense.

And that take is exactly why the democrats lost. Calling people idiots and morally bankrupt for 8 years certainly played out well for them. Treating minorities like monoliths, which is racist, also seemed to be another big winner for them. The whole "You are INSERT MINORITY so you cant have a different view than us" was another genius strategy. Try to find somewhere more conservative than a Catholic Church in Houston on Sunday morning. The idea that someone being "brown" instantly means they will vote a certain way is beyond racist and ignorant.

Wait. The economy? The inflation rate for the 12 months ending in September is 2.4%, the lowest since February of 2021, close to the 2% ideal, and well below the long term average of 3.3%. Unemployment has fallen dramatically since its high of over 14% in 2020 and has been close to 4% for the longest time since the Vietnam war. GDP is way up, as are real wages. The stock market is hitting new highs. Last year, 2024, the US produced more crude oil than any year during the former president's administration and more crude than any country has ever produced in a 12 month period in history. Conservatives often say that Trump will be better for the economy. However, they do not realise what the effect of ten percent tariffs would be on American jobs. They would simply result in the rest of the world imposing ten percent tariffs on all American goods. This is what happened in the 1930s when Republicans imposed extra tariffs on all imports and by doing so turned the wall street crash into the depression. Free trade in recent years has lead to increased prosperity around the world.

Not only that, if you just look at GDP per president ... it clearly shows Dumps economy was not that good... I don't know how he convinced normally intelligent people that his economy was good. (probably the tax breaks) which end this year ... and he added 8 trillion in debt in just 4 short years. Here is where he gets paid. He siphoned a ton of money from his own supporters and now he's going to start siphoning it from the US. They think the economy was better because he put a little more money in their pocket, while he had his hand in the other pocket. What they don't realize is, someone is going to have to pay this back and some point.

Unlikely. His ability to travel to the United Kingdom would depend on several legal and diplomatic factors. Under UK immigration laws, individuals with felony convictions can face restrictions on entry. However, heads of state, like the U.S. President, often receive special exemptions or diplomatic considerations that could allow them entry, regardless of past convictions. For a sitting president, diplomatic status may override standard immigration restrictions. UK authorities might grant him entry based on his position, although this would ultimately be a matter of UK government discretion. Given that travel by heads of state typically involves extensive security and planning, any issues would likely be handled through diplomatic negotiations to avoid major diplomatic tensions.

How will Trump make the economy better? All I heard was that he'd put tariffs on imported goods. That won't bring back jobs. That'll cause inflation. The manufacturers and importers will simply pass the costs onto the consumer. Do you really think the CEOs, corporate board members, and shareholders are gonna take the hit if they can pass it onto the consumers. 1) most obvious in food inflation and 2) for non-essentials, especially upper-middle to luxury goods, the extra expense is a drop in the bucket for their consumer base (i.e. earning +$US200K/yr).

Here in the uk if you even whisper anything racial your in hand cuffs before you even finish blinking. This man said he can grab any woman by the p***y. You should all be more afraid of the people that will be controlling him that really don’t like anyone that isn’t white.

If you think money equals freedom think about the oligarchs in Putin’s Russia who left this world through an open window, or the history of cities like Tulsa where black wealth was pillaged by angry white mobs. Your freedom has little to do with money. Money without the rule of law utterly useless.
