Weirdly- my issue is that I don't like how feminity is being connected to beauty and with such intensity. Not because guys can't have preferences but because being manly doesn't need to be about romantic relationships but everything female is. Which tells me as a person who can not experience sexual or romantic feelings, (which is how God made me, He made that clear,) that being a female and have a sense of fashion is only about...the yuck yucks. If I try to look nice, that is subconsciously what is happening in others minds including females. Though this also does come from a strange view point- though it may be an issue with other women too because they too are looking around seeing these things. Most just...don't recognize it. Same with men in many areas of their life, as it's a human reality ya know?

@@ted458 Well I think first off no one is saying anyone “needs” makeup. Technically we could all dress up in the same thing everyday, but for most people they like to wear certain things because it makes them feel comfortable or confident even if it is not needed. How you feel about yourself honestly matters more than what some random person thinks of your looks. In these videos, people are probably doing the full process or what is called a “full face” which is like every makeup step. I wouldn’t say this is the norm for everyone for everyday but it is for some. But, just because it is a lot of products doesn’t mean they use a lot. It is probably a lot of thin layers which is quite hard to blend seamlessly to look “natural.” A lot of products are also prepping the skin for makeup to last.

@@ted458I agree with you and I’m a woman. Some of those videos, the women look like one step short of a drag queen. And no matter how much prep and set you do, it doesn’t look so hot by the end of the day. I had a friend do my makeup like that when we were teens and my face felt like it was suffocating. I couldn’t wait to wash it off. No thanks. I’ve always preferred a more natural look, and my husband agrees.

I don't mind makeup, but it has to be light and natural. And when going out at night it has to be attractive and well applied. Please don't just cake it in. Yuck. I've always had a thing for girls eyelashes , so I like mascara on girls.
@gigglingchicken84442 ай бұрын
I have been makeup free for years. I love to do skincare and work hard for dewy skin. I stopped when I found out I react to a lot of makeup due to allergies. Looking back, I would still choose to be makeup free if I had a choice. Everyone thinks I wear mascara, but I tell them that this is what it looks like when you don't do lash extensions and mascara all of the time. They tend to pull out the lashes and weaken the hairs. The only thing I put on my lashes is a clear peptide biotin serum.

As a 50+ woman who often wears dresses to work that have a nice flow (and twirl as someone else mentioned in other comments), I get more compliments from men than on "casual jeans days." BTW, I am no spring chicken. I spend more time on the couch than at the gym, so it's not because I'm a sexy cougar type. I really think that men like that it looks nice and neat. I figure that I probably look more approachable, so the clients are more at ease. I keep my makeup simple- just enough to cover the dark circles and a little light pencil to fill out the post 90's eyebrows. 🤣 Maybe sundresses are a generic term that guys use for any dress that is NOT a bodycon, sausage-casing, spanx-required, "nothing left to the imagination" dress.

I’ll tell you, the amount of women I’ve dated who had impossible levels of expectations is crazy. If she doesn’t care that I don’t earn over $300,000 a year, and still loves me for who I am, THEN I’ll do my damnest to give her the universe, cause then she’ll deserve it.

ladies if you want to test your man about what type of outfits he'd like to see you in more often. bring him clothing shopping with you and have him pick a few outfits for you to try on. also give him bonus points if he picks something you like that is in your size.
@ViewportPlaythrough7 күн бұрын
if the dude has interest on that then sure it would work, but if not, then it would wholly backfire. not only would you not get the reactions you want, it might even anger you. a tamer version of it is skip the shopping part. just go shop and buy variety of styles on your own or with friends. do not show them up to him after one by one, instead, wear them naturally on the daily, then just see his reactions on them. if a dude like what you are wearing, you would know. maybe not verbally if he is not that kinda dude, but i assure you, you would know

I do not garden in a dress. I wouldn't want to mess it up and then walk around dirty for the rest of the day. As for the parenting thing, I've had to start wearing longer dressses and skirts, because I don't want to flash people, but not to the park. I've tried, and I've ended up tripping because it gets caught or whatever. I just dress appropriately for the occasion.

Leggings or cool shorts under, as weather appropriate. Having cheap used ones that are full if holes kept for dirty work lol My friends at school always used to be surprised when they saw me outside of school because I had comfortable black dress trousers I wore most days as my uniform. Just easier than tights with my skirts if I had to use the toilets or get changed, or running for the bus and classes, or in science since I was in there at least half the day. Outside of school though I always had dresses or skirts on. Towards the end of high-school I started experimenting with overdresses of sorts (we had to wear a shirt and tie). These days I'd probably wear more skirts because I've found a tights brand that works well for me in a practical sense. Easy to put on/pull up, stay in place without tricks and dont cause chaffing if really active in them. Sorry for the sideways story but it made sense to me to explain since you seem like a practical minded dresser too

When my husband and I started dating, he requested that I dress up more feminine 3x a week. He felt it was a fair balance for what he liked and also respecting my style which was and always has been tomboyish. At first, I was a bit irritated, which in hindsight makes me laugh as I wear maxi skirts and dresses everyday now; I absolutely love them. I love that I can retain my modesty and feel like a woman while knowing my husband finds me attractive on that level as well. My hobbies and interests were not infringed upon by a wardrobe shift. I never realized how much I hate pants until I converted to skirts and dresses.

No man should be telling his partner what he wants her to wear, people wear what they like and feel comfortable in. It also has nothing to do with femininity
@elflockexplorer5 ай бұрын
@@misfitm1457 Your husband has every right as the head of the household to make requests and voice his opinions on things that matter to him. I literally said it was a request, not demand, and later found out I'm MORE comfortable in skirts and dresses, so it has benefitted me as well. It's very odd to be salty about someone else's relationship. And I also find it amusing you're telling me, a wife and mother, that what I said has nothing to do with femininity. I don't think you have any comprehension of what femininity is. I respect and love my husband, the father of my children, as the leader, provider and protector of my household and family. Everything I said plays into my role as the feminine figure of the house. I will pray you find happiness and a partner that respects and loves you in a way you can reciprocate and prosper from someday.
