Also LP has a 50 year substrate warranty compared Hardie’s 30 year warranty.

I had Hardie Plank installed on one of my previous homes. It is not great and chipped at the bottom edge. When I tried to remove the damaged plank, it just fell apart.

Any siding should take into account where it’s installed on the home, area of country, cost of project.

I agree, there is never a one product fits all, We have done complete Brick wraps, Stone facade and stone tile. Scott Alan Custom Projects has made the decision to use James hardie as our standard based on the quality of home we build. Naturally we have several clients that choose to further upgrade and we gladly accommodate.

I've installed both hardie and LP. LP hands down is 10x easier to install. Hardie is hard to nail, hard to handle, and dusty to cut.

LP siding comes in 16’ lengths which translates to fewer joints and a quicker, more efficient install. And it comes in 16 different refinished colors! What’s not to like about LP siding? Tell me one negative

It is not fire resistant. Don't get me wrong. I have LP and love it but Hardie is great for wildfire prone area.

@@phamlam3720 I have to agree. LP is made from wood and glue. Out in the wildland urban interface, we clad our homes in cement.
