UK press, stop asking about history or if we can win trophies just support the team. We don't have the trophy cabinet of Italy. Let's just support them without this ridiculous notion that England should win trophies. We haven't proved we are that good yet. Unfortunately it's a vicious cycle. Good results are bound to fuel expectations. Silly to talk about it the World Cup though, seeing as it's still a long way off and there may be injuries etc, even though it is a strong squad. And sometimes teams just.lose form for no apparent reason. Just look at France in 2002.

Well said, I think Southgate’s covered this angle. He’s come in from a position of past experience with the media and England failing to deliver. he's pretty sluggish on the ball, his hold up play is backwards at best, he relies on his mass to cover defenders against the ball, he has good movement at best, only his shots are great and his passing is subpar if you close him down constantly. he doesn't thrive against presses, and when he drops deep it is sterling, walker, shaw, and the RW cleaning up for him. he isn't the star of the team for sure and berbatov is at the very least 3x better than him as a player, and that says a lot about how easy it is to be the best striker in the world arguably

@@game1414 I don’t think that’s the point, yes the project is going well but the focus should be on the European Final in 2 DAYS. Yes these players are professional but the English media should be trying to cover the focus of our players not set their mind wandering onto competitions that are as she said over 500 days away

@Kai McCook The Golden Generation was full of spoilt Brats who wasn’t mature enough to put Club Rivalries aside for the Good of their Country…. How on Earth Lampard and Gerald never found a way to gel as a unit was a crime, Along with Beckham and Scholes our Midfield should have destroyed any Team in its path but cliques in the England Camp led to a lack of communication and mistrust among each other led to England’s underachieving…. This is 1 thing Gareth Southgate should be given His due for because this current England Team do actually look like they get along and have left their Egos at the door for the sake of the Team…. Every Player as played their Socks off for their Country…. At the start of the Tournament I was fuming that Sterling was in the side and I thought We’d be out in the group stage but that Kid has shut Me and the rest of the doubters up, He plays with Pride when putting the 3 Lions Shirt on and is Player of the Tournament….

Getting in that Champions League final against Liverpool was the biggest game of your career. The order of trophy importance goes like this - World Cup, Champions League, League Title, Euro. You could win 5 Euros and still be less important than the guy who won 1 World Cup as a substitute.
@AzzWalk3 жыл бұрын
and of course, because England hasn't won a major trophy since 1966, they could say it's an achievement. I think it's an internal one, not too be proud of on the world stage.

And I really hope he leaves Tottenham and joins city to get silverware he really does deserve it.
