I want to raise a point on your "blue doesn't have a high roll" comment. Once you get 2 or 3 25k+ bodies assembled on your field (4c Trunks-only Vegeta and a 30k trunks, 2+ Vegitos, etc ), if they survive to a following turn where you have at least 4 energy, and at least 1 final hope slash + a pilaf, could you not call the resulting turn of 2 or more 45k/50k attacks a high roll? If the opponent ToPku is at 4/5 life, you can try and blitz them into dbl strike range or significantly drain their hand if they decide to block. In that case, even when they awaken, they are either much lower on life or don't have a significant hand to put behind their offense going forward. Considering ToPku has a difficult time minusing active mode 25k plus bodies to 0 there, is a good chance your cards will survive until that turn. If you leave a 30k trunks or 2 in active mode, it is even immune to the 5cost beerus destruction effect. Would like to hear your opinion.

I would say that at that point in the game, a 3 drop, a 3 drop and a 4 drop on the board means it's at least turn 6. That's way more time than needed for TopKu to awaken and at that point you're running the risk of them playing 3 Drop Gohan, Kefla plus SR gohan to potentially wipe one of the 25ks off the board. I do believe the deck should be running God Kamehameha as well. So this field can happen but it's late enough in the game to have a lot of variables involved : o

@@UniXTCG I've met fast awakening ToPku's and slow awakening ToPku's. The slow awakeners may end up with bigger hand sizes, but the fast awakeners are a pain b/c of all the pressure. I figured there was no one size fits all answer, so I'd try and guage which one the person I'm playing is. Whatever they are trying to do, I try and do the opposite. Get aggressive with the slow awakeners around 4 or 5 life and avoid attacking the fast awkeneners as much as possible while you build energy. Tucking their cards to make them go -1 or -2 partially makes up for losing out on the leader swing's +1 on the turns your leader doesn't attack. I wonder which playstyle between Trunks and Topku is more in ToPku's favor, the fast or slow awakeners 🤔 Assuming fast b/c the slow awakeners allows blue to build more energy, and eventually Zenoh becomes an option.

I think Topku is T0 because of the nature of multi round (6+) events. Sure decks -can- beat TOPku, but to do so consistently enough in a multi round event hasn't been demonstrated, and with how much it affects the meta, it is pretty evident that it's a T0 format that revolves around 1 deck.

I'll be attending both regionals the first I actually really like Frieza right now. I think people dont give credit for it's ability to fight topku in card advantage. The second we'll see if I tilt if so probably androids because it's my favorite deck. If I don't tilt I'll give Frieza the run back.

Won’t be making Illinois but will be at GenCon! Stuck between Beerus or just running topku. Would love to play blue but scared of those green matchups. Maybe Bandai will do something by GenCon but who knows. Until then focusing on red I think.

I got yellow Vegeta built and have a blast playing it against my friends but we also don't run Topku as a rule outside of testing. If you're going to tourney, I hate to say it but you should expect to get washed. Format sucks.

@@DaLastSnow51 Yeah I feel that, I put my money into yellow and blue and while blue is my best bet I'm not sure I'm interested in paying money just to enter and fight an uphill battle and tilt. Honestly blows my mind that they managed to mess up balance this badly with only two sets of cards. I'm convinced no one involved in designing this game actually tests it or is any good at playing it because the Topku over-tuning is blatant to figure out. Makes me pretty pessimistic about the future of the game now, which is a shame cause outside Topku this format has a lot of fun matchups/interactions going on.

We got a regional in Niagara Falls in July but I'm thinking I'm just gonna skip it cause I don't wanna spend money to build an entire red deck just to have a chance. What a shit format.

I’m so turned off by the flooding of TopKu decks. I hate this trend of competitors just jumping on the “best deck” bandwagon. It’s turning me off from this game I just started. Then, on top of that, all the content creators keep making videos about the same deck. I’m not hating on the deck, just tired of seeing it and only it everywhere.

Can't actually tell if you even watched the video. I do go into the advantages and shortcomings of every single deck you could consider meta relevant, but at the same time you can't ignore when a deck simply has more legs to stand on than the other decks. And if you're going to go to either of the next 2 regionals, there are many relevant points you have to understand. Unfortunately TopKu isn't probably the best deck.... it IS the best deck. And until that changes it has to be addressed.

@@UniXTCG I watch all your videos actually. I live in Japan by the way so no US regionals for me. 🥲🥲 Here in Japan, at the local level, you don’t see as much TopKu flooding but definitely once you climb to higher levels of competition. I don’t think the saturation is as much as in the US, there is always a stronger trend towards the BDIF in card games there. I joined this game right as the second set released so I only heard horror stories of the Broly meta and now I’m caught in the TopKu pandemic. 😭😭😭. It makes me only want to play at small local events, where people actually dare to try other decks. Thanks for always putting great details in your videos. Sorry for the rant. Your video just happened to be maybe number 5 today talking a lot about TopKu, I happened to have time to type while watching yours 🙈🙈

@@UniXTCG I am definitely not the type to often play the BDIF, it feels like taking the easy way out to me. I’d rather spend sleepless nights trying to find its weakness 😅😅. I did that a lot in MTG and those choices won me a few tournaments, like RCQs. That being said, I don’t think Bandai games work the same way. I doubt we will find a “solve” for TopKu, other than just playing the mirror match better like you said. I hope Bandai does something soon …
