Quick lil PSA: DO NOT USE AUTOPLUGIN. It seems really useful at first, but the config files that it generates are kinda broken when you download plugins and can sometimes brick your vita. Just manually download your plugins, it's not super hard and can stop your vita from getting bricked.

I just got autoplugin 2 earlier this week and it made my Vita get stuck in a boot loop. I would recommend not using it because it's very easy to misplace something. I now have to remod my Vita.

im not gonna lie, after I bought my Steam Deck, all my handheld started to collect dust, you can literally emulate anything on it, and the fact that it runs PS1, PS2, some PS3 and 360 games and Nintendo Switch games, made it replace any other handheld on the market. i still have my psp, but only use it in very rare cases.

Adrenaline is a full PHP custom firmware that allows the real PSP hardware in the PSVita to operate like it would on a real PSP, not the cut down version included on the PS Vita. I also had both the Vita and 3DS... and I still do. Minecraft and Terraria were my go-to games, but I also played hundreds of hours of Binding of Isaac: Rebirth. Fun fact: up until 1.4.4 hit the PS4 version, I could still bring stuff from the Vita version of Terraria to PS4

Why do people think the PSVSD requires soldering? I got that question like 15 times in the past week. It does not require any soldering, you plug it in like a hard drive, thats literally it.

the 3G SD card modem doesn't require soldering, all you to do is unscrew the original modem and replace it with the SD modem, and optionally the sim card slot extender (which you showed in the clip) just replaces the sim card slot for an SD card slot. no soldering needed. just all plug n play.

3:40 I have a 512gb and it works fine but it depends on formatting and what adaptor you have. But to maybe save yourself from extra hassle I'd still recommend 256gb just to be sure. Because with 70 psp and 80 vita games (counting in some ports) I still have more than half of the storage available.

Just make sure you pick one size you will stay with because moving to a different size is PAIN. It took long and I still lost saves and some of the games didn't work. Yes i copied all hidden folders as well.

Bought a practically brand new PS Vita off eBay earlier this year for around $200. It is a modding beast being able to run all PSP games natively in addition to its own library, which is admittedly mostly JRPGs. Only downside to modding Vitas is that they sold poorly so finding them nowadays is very difficult.

The PS Vita was actually stupidly popular in Japan, they only stopped production around 2018-2020. This also means that Jp Vitas are a lot cheaper, even with overseas shipping costs taken into account, most should be ~$50-$75 cheaper than an NA Vita.

i had a vita as a kid, absolutely loved the thing My dad used to pay for ps plus at the time, so i got a bunch of great games to play, like muramasa rebirth, the binding of isaac rebirth, terraria, gravity rush and playstation all-stars battle royale after a few years, the charger broke, and we didn't bother getting a new one for a while, but, when we did, it lasted a bit more now, it's currently broken, with the part where the battery needs to touch to send energy to the console being the culprit one day, i will play on my vita again

Vita is amazing you mod it and you got half a life time of games and dlc to play. Also the other mods like moonlight lets you stream from your pc to your vita. I played RE2remake, GOW2018, and a lot of 360 emu on my vita using my pc. Almost no input lag almost never drops unless I walk to the other side of the house closing all the doors behind me. I just got one a year ago, I don't know why I didn't pick one up when they came out it's like a ps2.5 in your hands and with some texture mods you can make games look like ps3 games still running at 30-60 fps. Sony dropped this pretty fast and for some reason I thought it was the PSGO where it didn't take games you had to download them. I'm shocked the vita didn't take off it was way a head of it's time it took the switch to come out before something was better.

My Vita is modded as is my PSP but really don't play them since modding....but still use my DSi XL and 3DS every day. I bought a PlayStation TV earlier this year. It’s that tiny console Sony released in between PS4 and PS5 that they quickly forgot about because nobody was stupid enough to buy it since it’s literally just a screenless Vita that can only play certain Vita games but can connect to a TV. Modding it does remove functionality so I just modded my slim model and kept my original model as-is to play the original games on the better screen. I don't pirate though Still the PSP has been bigger than the Vita for me . I was one of the first in the world to have one, preordering and waiting to be the first in that rural Japan store in December 2004... I'm probably the only person in the world with the streak of playing the PSP at least weekly for 20 years in 2 months' time😅
