Wasps do not play! They can sting you many times over and all their friends will join in! Soapy water does well and swatting them when they are chilly also does well, if you have a can of compressed air that can work too. I have a rule, if you are outside I leave you alone, if you come into my house I don’t. And I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day Ashley. 👍🏼❤️

Thanks for not editing out the wasp experience - I never laughed so hard in my life. (So...Doug's a screamer, is he? That is so funny...🤣). Reminds me of years ago at a friend's place in Missouri. They had a wasp problem also - in a tiny old smokehouse that sat right next to the main house. Anyone who walked close to it would get attacked. My friend latched onto a pest control sprayer and filled it with kerosene. It worked great, only it was a matter of "shoot-and-run" then going back and doing it again until they were finished. He got stung a few times, so he gave the job to me. Of course, I was too quick for them, and so I survived to tell the tale to younger generations. You probably won't want to use the kerosene method, and I have no other suggestions. I used what worked and didn't bother to ponder other options. But I thought you might like the story. Letting them alone for the time being is a wise thing to do until you can formulate a plan. But don't wait too long - if they decide to pack up and move, it may be to a more private place and you might not find them. "Keep your friends close, but your adversaries even closer."

You might want to consider a ceiling fan in the screened in room. It’s a very southern thing to do. It really helps to circulate what little breeze you get in the summer. Also, you keep on inspiring me to get things done around my house, so thank you!! Keep up the great work.

I forgot to comment on your last video so here goes. Those haters are very troubled people. And it seems that it's just gotten worse in the last 5-6 years. Please know Ashley, you guys are soo above the curve than most people. My spiritual belief system tells me that both you and Doug are very old souls and most likely soul mates. I think the haters are simply jealous of you, your beautiful family, and your amazing accomplishments. Ashley, you and Doug have it figured out, most people never figure it out. Happy Mother's Day Ashley. You are a great mother! Doug, at night put a jar over that wasp nest and gentle ease a piece of cardboard between mouth of jar and ceiling. Once it has fallen into jar, keep cardboard over the jar mouth. Take covered jar, nest, and wasps to a tree far away from your house. Gently nestle jar in the tree limbs. Take cardboard off and run like heck. You haven't killed them or destroyed their hard word. You have relocated them.

LOL! Thanks for the laugh, Doug! But really, you can't let them finish building there. I take a lighter to the nest and they fly away to build elsewhere. Go ahead and give them their eviction notice before they try to give you one. 😊

Happy Mothers Days Ashley!!! Let Doug know that wasp nest should come down. The wasps will make it bigger if they can, and as it gets bigger they will get aggressive. Spray it it night, then knock it down the next night. And check the furniture you have stored in there also. We have found those kind of wasp nests on the bottom of our lawn chairs and tables before.

Doug, they are paper wasps and they sting!!!!!! At night, knock the nest down, they will relocate. Leaving it up, you will find they increase daily as more hatch out. Plus they sting multiple times. Ashley, sitting at the computer, getting up and down, will be seen as a threat. Getting stung by them is not a joke, they hurt.

Great idea to put up that insulation. Get some spray to kill those wasps, being stung by them is very painful and for sure you don’t want the kids stung. Happy Mothers’s Day Ashley!

Oh, wasps… i am allergic to them. I won’t leave them in or even outside on the house. At dusk, when they are not active place a thick plastic bag around the nest, remove the nest and keep the bag closed. You can take the bag into the woods and leave it open, the wasps will find their way out and make a new nest. Happy Mother’s Day, Ashley! Be happy with your beautiful family and ignore the trolls!

you are being kind to those bees...I had some building a nest on my back porch...I didn't want to kill them, but I didn't want them building where they were. I encouraged them to leave-made a spray of peppermint oil and water and kept spraying the area and they soon moved on.

Happy Mother’s Day, Ashley. Doug, if you want to get rid of the wasp nest and it’s tenants, get a spray bottle and put water in it half way next, add dish detergent and shake it a little until sudsy. Now, seat your sprayer on “ stream” and spray the nest enough to soak it. If there are tenants home spray them too. Believe it or not, the soap kills them. ( I have seen this work on a fence that had one and this is what the man used to get rid of them. )

Screen room!!!!….great idea!!! … my husband enclosed our porch and built me one and I loved it when we lived down there… helped so much to have an outside space and not have to worry about the bugs etc…I used it so much…even in the summer…since it usually cools down at night …we put a table out there and use to have dinner out there… you might think about putting a ceiling fan out there in time as well… we had trees above it so it didn’t get that hot …insulating it will help a lot.
